St.Thomas College Pala is a very well known college and is one of the Best arts colleges in Kerala. The huge campus area is a big Positive. It is one of the biggest arts college campus in Kerala. The faculty is excellent. Only negative is the lack of support for celebrations and extracurricular activities from the part of Management.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is Excellent. It covers wide variety of subjects and will enable you to excel in the field in which you study. The exams are conducted in semester system. There will be 2 semesters in a year. You will have to clear all papers in ever semester to get your graduation certificate.
Placement Experience
There is no internship provided in the college for the BA English Language and Literature course in St.Thomas college Pala. Campus placement interviews are less. Campus placement interviews are more for the Bcom course than the other courses.
College Events
The college have lesser celebrations compared to other colleges in the university because of the interventions from the management. Even though, occasions like Arts Day, College Day, Union inauguration etc. are celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure in St.thomas College Pala is as per the guidelines of the Mahathma Gandhi University because the College if affiliated to MG University. It is so for the aided courses which is feasible. For the unaided courses there is a much bigger fee structure which may not be feasible by everyone.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarships are awarded by the university and the government. The college have a system which helps the poor students but in my knowledge there are no loan facility or scholarships provided by the college.
Campus Life
St.Thomas college Pala is well-known for its excellence in Sports. The volleyball team is the main attraction and are the current champions of MG University. The Lab facilities of the college if also excellent.
Hostel Facilities
Although iam a day scholar, I know clearly about the Hostel facilities in St.Thomas College Pala. The Christhuraj Hostel is the official hostel of the college and is situated inside the college campus. It have all the necessary facilities.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumini network of St.Thomas college Pala is not that strong unfortunately. The senior students in the college are helpful and there is no such thing as ragging or bulliying in the college. It is a safe environment for every students.
Admission
I got admission in the management quota. You should be able to get recommendations from high authorities if you want to get admission via Management quota. If you need admission via merit quota, you will have to apply online on the MG University website in the given time. You can select multiple colleges, you should put St.Thimas college as first option. The admission will be like, If there are 40 seats for a course in St.thomas college, they will look if you have put the College as first option. Then they will check your marks. Students who have put the College as first option and have most marks will get seats first.
