Asutosh college has already completed 100 years with excellence. It is one of the most prestigious colleges in Kolkata. Active Politics is a part of its body. But that does not affect students and academics.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum of Bsc. Statistics honours in Calcutta University,that we are going through is a little bit outdated. Our exam pattern is yearwise (1+1+1), i.e. you have take the final exam at the end of each year in 3 year course.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities specifically in our Statistics department is too good. Every year some students get placed in some Multi National Companies, but natural trend of students in Statistics is to study further. Some of them get into research domain. Internship is provided in some departments but not in all. But Science students go for research internship sometimes.
College Events
Asutosh College is famous for its festive mood. Local festivals and important days are celebrated through out the year. The college fest 'UDAAN' is celebrated in a grand way. The student union is always active on this issues.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is absolutely feasible. Along with the course fees college development fees are taken at a minimal amount. For the subjects that are labbased like Computerscience,Physics,Chemistry have practicals are charged more than other subjects.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scolarships like Swami Vivekananda Merit scolarship offered by Government of West Bengal ,Kanyashree scholarship for the economically challenged girl students are offered. Moreover that Jagadish Bose National Science Talent search,INSPIRE scolarships are also available.
Campus Life
Music,Dance, Sports etc. all sorts of extracurricular activities are pampered here. In all the functions in the college through out the year you can showcase your talent. Moreover that the students union is always encouraging in those activities. Laboratories are also very well maintained.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is very strong in Asutosh college. The seniors are always ready to help their juniors in any cause. They are very active in social causes like flood relief fund etc. Alumni members take part in all programs in college.
Admission
After the publication of higher secondary examination result, we had filled up online admission form to apply for our choice of course in this college. After that merit list was published on scheduled date, then particular dates were given to appear in the respective college department physically according to the merit list to take admission.
Faculty
The faculties of our college are really hardworking and they always try to give their best effort for the students. They attend their classes regularly moreover that they are always keen to help the students. They also enthuse students to attend seminars and workshops relevant to them.
