What Students Say
Likes
- The Faculty of the commerce department is very experienced and supportive
- Got several departments to show your skills and develop them also
Dislikes
- The gentry of the university isn't very nice in my opinion
- The examination procedure of the university is very time taking
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course at the university because the university has adopted new education policy and the curriculum of the Bcom course is accordingly.. Also the curriculum does shows the light towards real world experience as we have subjects like currency banking and exchange The examination is of 2 hours starting from 2024 Previously it was of 3 hours
Internships Opportunities
I am not very much aware about the internships as I am only in first semester but if I would get to know about it I will definitely edit the review for you all.. But I have heard that university provides internship opportunities
Placement Experience
You'd be eligible for campus placement once you are in the last semester and companies like tata Wipro visits the campus The average package would be around 8 lakhs but in reality you could expect upto 4-5 lakhs after completing your graduation
Fees and Financial Aid
First year fees for the regular Bcom- NEP is 4077 (first semester) + 3577 (second sem) =7654 Then for the remaining two years it is= 7154+7154=14308 So the total fees For BCOM(NEP) REGULAR in lucknow university is Rs.21,962 ($258.80) And for the self finance in Bcom(NEP) it is First semester - Rs.15880 Second and remaining semester - Rs.15380 So the total is Rs.92,780($1093.32) The course is of 4 years but the 4th year isn't compulsory.. thus you will get your degree after 3 years only.. but if you want to go with the 4th year you must score 7.5 or above cgpa in the last semester to be eligible There is no such attendance issues in the commerce department so if you are pursuing CA/CS/CMA/CFA or any other certification LU is the best place for you The university also provides the scholarship but for that you'd need income certificate and also your attendance should be above 75% to be eligible for the scholarship test There are many departments like debate, singing etcetera so if you are interested in all of that you can join those department So overall University of Lucknow is way better than other colleges in lucknow for Bcom and Bcom (Hons) And the fees is affordable and if you don't find it affordable you have the option of scholarship as well so don't worry Thank You
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty good at the university as you have various departments like debate singing to enhance your skills and perform it out You can also get several books and journals at Tagore Library in the main campus of the universe and fun fact it has been renovated so the aesthetics of the Library is pretty There are many sports events that occur like badminton cricket volleyball and also if you are interested is NCC you can go for it too The only flaw is that the gentry of the campus is not good
Admission
I applied For CUET UG mainly I wanted Delhi University any North campus colleges or Top south campus colleges and I even scored 694/800 in the cuet ug examination but unfortunately I was alloted ramanujan college, new delhi which was my 24th preference and i thought it wasn't worth it for me to leave my hometown lucknow if it wasn't SRCC, RAMJAS, HINDU and other top colleges.. but that was just my choice I didn't get rejected in any entrance examination I even got regular seat In National Post Graduate College Lucknow but NPGC is no way near Lucknow University The admission process of LU is by giving the entrance examination for the you need to pass your 12th grade with 50% marks.. mostly students prefer BCom entrance exam so the cutoff is very high you must be score above 120 ( if you are general) to clear the cutoff the entrance examination is of 200 marks but there is no negative marking and there would be 100 questions of 2 marks each There is reservation system also for the SC/ST/OBC so they might get in if they score 80+
Faculty
There is only One examination per semester in Bcom(NEP).. THERE is no Mid term examination So the exam pattern (for first semester) is subjective you'd get 4 questions ( 3 questions of 20 marks and 1 question of 15 marks ) And the assignment given by you would be of 25 marks each subject so the total marks becomes 100 There are 5 major subjects and you have to choose one co curricular subject according to your preference And the co curricular examination would be MCQ based.. there will be 100 MCQs and you have to do 50 of them
Night Life
Nightlife is always been fantabulous in lucknow and lucknow university as there are many go to places near the university like royal cafe, MacDonalds in hazratganj You can also visit many eateries like jain chaat corner, sardarji chole bhature, Sharma ki chai as they are within 2-4 km from the university and for shopping you can go to kapoorthala or hazratganj The locality is very safe but it would be safer if you roam around in groups
