Remarks
Overall, college is best in jalandhar. Staffs are supportive, discipline is maintained most of the time. Many non teaching sttaf members are very good mannered for girls but very bad mannered for boys.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum was of GNDU, But now a days there is separate DAV University and curriculum is of dav university. Practicals are given importance, but there is more rote learning than the understanding I guess.
Placement Experience
There are many companies which visit time to time for job placements. Also if u topped a class then u will be giving an opportunity to teach in that college. Further, styam, wipro and infosys (but for call centre) post visted many times when i was there in college.
College Events
Each year, one big program is celebrated, however many exhibitions, science programs and the conferences, workshops are conducted in the Dayanand Anglo vedic cllege jalandhar. You get an opportunity to express urself.
Fee Structure And Facilities
When i was there, from 2008-2011 fees was 30000 for one year, but now its semester syatem and same fees is for one semester. Also u need to pay some fines and pay some extra almost 500rs at the time of last exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no special scheme, normal schemes are there which is governed by government. However if you are a player, artist or topper then u can reduce your fees as much as you want. Yearly, some extra scholarships also come
Campus Life
Extra curricular activities are there to promote students, National cadit course ncc and national social service nss organise proper training of students and trips for nss. Games are also encouraged.
Hostel Facilities
Not I was day scholar. I used to come on bike and there was parking inside dav but not its outside. At that time it was charged 5 rs daily now nearly 10-20. Bikes will be safe, thats for sure. Hostel is nice. Rooms are fine. Computer labs are good.
Alumni/Alumna
I am a part of alumni, my class mate is now a professor in the same college. Im doing phd and private school teacher. Others are also settled in there lives. Life in dav college is like a dream, I miss my old days spent with friends.
Admission
After passing +2 in 2008. I just visited DAV College. I got admission in B.Sc computer Science, by Just paying fees. No entrance exam is required, at first i was told that there is only one seat left. But when i joined 50 more students got admission.
Faculty
Faculty is outstanding, supportive but the permanent staff need to work hard and should work more to encourage students and to make their doubts clear. One physics teacher is rajeev kunwar and he is best.
