Course Curriculum Overview

4

the courses and teaching methods are okay, i wish they didn't drag classes till the last minute and take extra classes to rush and complete the syllabus. The teaching methods are heavily memory based, that is, what you listen in class is the base of all questions in exams. So if you lack focus in class, dont write notes, have bad memory, or miss classes, you are at loss of GPA

Fees and Financial Aid

Anyone who gets 80% above in their 12th boards gets a 10000 fee consession and 20000 for 90% in 12th boards. I got above 80 so mine is 2lpa but 24,000 per semester for transport as well. There is no partial payment option.

Campus Life

4

Campus life if you're a hosteler is great and far better than just travelling to college everyday. It saves a minimum of 4 hours of your day if you are a hosteler instead of dayscholar as a local. Books and journals are properly available and library is open long enough for people to study for exams. The law school library is good, the business school has rigid and irrational rules. Borrowing time is 1 week. Classes are digitally powered, PPTs used to teach and most teachers send them to the class group after the lecture and before exams so studying is convenient. Mics used for proper audibleness. Class has 2-3 air conditioners. There are alot of festivals and social events. There are 2 fests a year and more for halloween, diwali, christmas, dusshera etc. There's also course related events like Moot Court, Client Counselling for law school and other events for tech, business as well. months: March-April, August, September-October, November, December Clubs in the Law school are many: Environment, Legal aid, Cultural, Literature, Photography, Music, (Moot Court, Alternate dispute resolution- academic clubs) Debate society 2 classes every Wednesday alloted for club activities. Clubs are active and always going on. There are also centres of excellence holding conferences. Gender studies, Maritime law, Criminal law, Intellectual property, Cyber law, Womens safety, etc. Awareness programmes also happen once in a while. There is a student database to access marks, attendence, announcements etc. Inter college MUNS, Sports tournaments also happen once a year.

Admission

Applied to symbiosis and other colleges like mahindra. Got into both of them but didn't go due to heavy fee and no detail about the quality of teaching and examination, and future opportunities after studying there. I knew a few people who studied Law here and they have a good understanding of what to look for in a college so I assumed this would be a safe decision (but not the best decision, I suggest you write CLAT again instead of settling for colleges of this sort) In this college the admission process is to write ILSAT which has English, General Knowlede, Quantitative analysis, Legal reasoning and logical reasoning. Pretty basic test, just what you write in any aptitude test, basic mathematics and surface level knowledge of law, and ofcourse, General Knowledge (with current affairs) The exam and interview are just for namesake and almost everyone gets in. Also, you have to have passed your 10, 11 & 12th grades. The interview consists of basic questions like Gk, your background, if you're a first gen lawyer, if your siblings are in the same college, etc. Theres negative marking in the test of 0.25 marks per wrong question. Theres a 10 day orientation after joining which gives you a proper introduction to the exam, fee, etc structure and all the basic things one would need to know after entering college. A full day is dedicated to hostel rules and regulations.

Faculty

3

faculty-student relationship is subjective because some people prefer strict faculty, while the others prefer friendly, easy-to-approach faculty and by strict I mean the faculty that do not excuse irresponsibility and inculcate accountability into the students. Uptight teachers also exist by which, I mean by that is they just restrict and confine and block out all the creative thinking which just hinders the growth of the students and does not help with learning and is counterproductive

Night Life

4

Calm nightlife but also active. It is not like a sleepy town. It's lively, people go to the cafes around the city like Kakas, Cafes in Narsingi, etc Gate curfew, 9pm, Hostel curfew at 10pm. Gym is there but not well maintained, Cafe and library, as mentioned are good enough but not upto the price paid Locality is safe but it is advised to not be off-guard. Safe enough for Girls.

Highest package from NALSAR is around 45 lakhs and average is around 12.5 lakhs. Around 90% students are placed only those who fail to clear the exams are the only ones who are not provided placements here. My plans are to do LLM in IP as that holds the best future in Law.

Overall every student here are placed and in corporate houses as NALSAR unlike other NLUs where litigation is at the forefront, here it's Corporate LAW. So, i am quite happy and little skeptical too that, i get the top placements as next year onwards as we enter the final year, we will stand qualified for placements.

our Internships and grades as in law studies everything matters. Some students dont do internships on purpose and those students dont get placements even though they are at NALSAR. Students who have done all of it get placed easily with a package of 15 lakhs or more.

At NALSAR most students are pre taken as during internships we prove that we are made of steel. Corporate houses like the IT firms, the hospitals and manufacturing sector too, you name it and we have such organizations making sure we get the best placements ever. While rest NLUs average placements are around 10 lakhs ours is close to 15 lakhs.

Placement Experience:

There have been excelent campus placements from our college where people have gotten a starting offer of 12LPA as a newbie. Students are eligible for campus placement only in their last semester. If students want to work in their 4th year, they dont provide them attendance for work and are hence unable to pursue serious work. Out of 300 students in a batch, an approximate of 70 people get placed every year. With regard to internships, however, one has to find their own internship. We are given mentors for help in this area but they can only do so much as share lawctopus links that i can find myself. I plan on getting my degree and pursue LLM abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA.LLB Course is challenging yet rewarding journey. The journey becomes easier because of talented faculty members who, most of them have Ph.D qualifications. The course becomes understandable by getting real life illustrations, on-going cases, getting to attend seminars from notable persons. The college also conducts moot court competition and other competitions to enhance the advocacy skills in the students.

Placement for the MBA and B pharma course in NMIMS Hyderabad campus is excellent although for law since only one batch has graduated so far the placement offers have been a bit slow. However the placement committee has done an excellent job everytime during student internship process. There are tier 1 firms that are also currently recruiting nmims students. The only issue is the location of the campus which makes assessment internships difficult. But that issue is temporarily fixed by having the final year students take their classes in the hyderabad city campus to make it easier for them to have an internship and still attend classes

From the 3rd semester, you are well eligible for placements. Various company's and firms get into some famous like Amarchand and so on. As an intern, you are not getting that big salary offers but you get a good and sustainable amount of money for work. I think the highest package was offered as 18lac per annum and the majority stick to 13 14 lakhs. 100% of students get placements if they have performed well in every semester. I've decided to work one year as a clerk with a judge and then on to do my master's in law from abroad.
