Comparing other central universities, CUK is moderately fine.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course structure is completely makes student to shift over Geoinformatics which is comparatively better as its job oriented, but on the other side, theory side is not being concentrated that much. Theory is must, but its being lagging behind, makes us unconfrotable for theory based competitive exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

In Central Universities fees are usually somewhat high compared to state college (governement). In Central University of Karnataka, the fee structure for MSc. Applied Geography and Geoinformatics for OBC annually including sem exam is ?22840. Scholarship opportunities are available for all. But I didnt get any scholarship.

Campus Life

4

Social life in CUK is really better, best place to hangout with friends, infrastructure is far better. Can find partners for life nd for crime also. Campus is isolated and away from city nd has really good environment makes it awesome with friends.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility is available for all who wants to avail hostel, its available for both boys and girls of both ug and pg. The accomodation fees is low, but the mess fees is high but the food provided is not worth it. Hostel admission process is very easy, once you reach the campus after online admission, hostel admission will be done in 1 days just after you pay the hostel fees. I have no idea about rented accomodation outside the campus.

Admission

Central University of Karnataka has better admission rate compared to other university, people from different parts of India actively come nd join over here. Its the best place to interact with pan India community. Admission is based on CUET exam score for both pg nd ug.

Faculty

3

In the department of geography, there are really better faculty with high core knowledge. The exam system followed is semester based exam pattern with 2 internal exams per sem. 60 mark for external and 40 mark for internal per paper. Exams usually be easy in the dept of geography. And marking scheme is usual like other colleges does.

Night Life

4

Gym are available, cafeteria are available, central library is there. There is not timing for boys hostel, for girls based on hostel the timing varies from 9 - 9 30 in the night. All the hostel are inside the campus and in the night we cant roam outisde the campus, boys can roam within the campus area. Hangout spots are there, in the campus its Sunset point, which is so so so good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
