Course Curriculum Overview

2

In my view, course curriculum would be quite relevant and comprehensive. The factors that pushed me to attend this course includes; The course This course has focused on areas such as Data Science, AI as well as Finance, which are vital areas of the modern market. Not only do they interest me but also they are relevant and post-secondary in line with today’s jobs in technology and business. One of the great features of the curriculum is its ability to teach its students how the systems are to be used in the real world. For instance, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Business Finance among others are type courses that are almost mirror the market and conform to practical market requirements. Furthermore, internships and projects are added to the course, where one is able to complete actual problems in the case of learning, and it is very beneficial for promotion. However, there are still openings for development. There could be added more of the arising technologies, namely Blockchain, Cybersecurity, etc., to meet the future needs on the job market. In addition, the processes of training and learning can also be made more attractive by including more case studies, group discussions and practice-oriented projects rather than using mere lecture approach. This would promote more efficiency; and increased personnel interaction and practical skill acquisition. The frequency and the time table for examinations, testing are acceptable, but the level of difficulty may vary. Certain examinations focus more on recall of information than comprehension and use of content, thus, could benefit from more practical tests. It would be more effective if there is equal distribution of the theory portion with practical tasks in exams, so as to measure the capability of a certain program in preparing the students for the real world.

Internships Opportunities

2

The college of my study provides a wide range of internships, which, indeed, gives students a taste of the actual world markets. These following are some companies that provide internships among them are Amazon, Google, Microsoft. These internships are paid mostly with a wage of ?30000 to ?50000 per month based on the company and position.

Placement Experience

2

My college has most of the placements in general. Campus placements start from the 6th semester but students just have to meet certain requirements such as having a certain academic average, and/or having completed their internships where required. We are fortunate to engage several renowned organisations which recruit from our university for positions including Data Science, Business Analytics and Software Development with famous companies like TCS,Delloite,Accenture, google, etc. The exact number of offers made differs from year to year but the rate is certainly quite impressive. The average package is around ?5-7 lakh LPA, basically into technology, finance and consulting are some of the areas where these graduates get placed. 80% percent of the total students are offered placement and this is the testimony of campus recruitment that depicts a perfect setup of the placement fork and solid industry links that the college develops.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total course fees for a Btech-cse student is about ?1600000 only which is 400000 per year and it increase slightly each year. Candidates of reserved seba (SC/ST, OBC) avail concessions in fee structures as receive scholarships / financial assistance. Scholarship programs for excursion i.e Merit scholarships and Need based scholarships including Merit-cum- Need scholarship assist students in bearing the costs. i dont know about the fees my friends for other courses pay.

Campus Life

2

In general, I have had a very good social life on campus and I believe it is a good mix of class work, co-curricular activities and fellowship. The campus festivals are a highlight, with two major annual events: Dandiya night is the cultural festival which is celebrated within october and Euphoria which the technical festival celebrated within february to may. These incidences offers and opportunity for students to perform their talents and also associate with other students from different department. The library is fully furnished with bound copies of a great number of books, journals and research papers. It includes the following services, physical and online access to collections that students need for academic and personal development. School’s classrooms are adequately equipped, well-equipped, with the necessary technological equipment such as projectors, computers and smart boards as well as high-speed internet access and help expand the students’ knowledge. The campus also provides equipped laboratory and workshop facilities for practical experience especially with technical courses. When it comes to games and extracurricular activities offered in the college, that include footballing, cricket, chemistry club, dramatic club, music club, debate club, badminton and many more. There are normal sporting events, competitions that help make students to be active in their daily activities. There are also some student’s clubs and social associations like, geekforgeeks, Ciphers BU, devops Bu, occasionally arranging workshops, debates and community services. All these clubs play a great role in the life of the students through offering them a belonging and to the overall development of their personalities in other spheres but academics.

Admission

I was offered places in Chandigarh University,IPU college and NIET College after applying for colleges. I got confirmed admission to Chandigarh University and I preferred this college over the others because of the great reputation of the college in Engineering of the courses like Data Science, Business Analytics and computer science and the curriculum offered by them that attracts me. The other colleges that I applied were also providing good programs, however this college had an edge when it came to internships, placements and the kind of faculty they possessed. I did not gain admission in some of them particularly IPU college because I could not make the cutoff marks or sit for their entrance tests. The admission process in Bennett University was not so complex. The requirement criteria being based on class averages and written entrance tests. I had to sit forCUET, and my performance on this test, and also my high school results put me through for this course. It was even possible to pass the exam, and the cutoff I was able to achieve was 85%. I did not have any problems with the admission process and everything we were supposed to provide as students, interviews, documents, and timeline was well spelled out. Both the faculty members and staff to ensure that the whole process is not as stressful as it could have been.

Faculty

2

The faculty-to-student ratio at my college is around 1:20, so that every learner has adequate time spent with him or her to provide necessary assistance to progress in learning. Instructors are easily accessible and competent; many of the lecturers do a great job of explaining topics like Finance and Analytics or by using examples or activities. But some professors continue with traditional approaches, teaching mostly from the book, often with little or no practice, thus making learning sluggish and less professional. While it provides a good mix of theory and practical assignments, major subjects provided are AI, Data Tools, and Finance, the course has limited options for electives. Expanding the offered topics, for instance, Blockchain, Cybersecurity and Business Tools in the curriculum would be more relevant for learners. Course-related projects, internships that are required by some programs, ensure the transformation from academic work to practice. The exam scheme entails two midterms and one final where midterm comprises of 30% and final is 70%. The examinations are however usually credible about 10-15% of students fail to pass them mainly because of the basic technicality of the courses offered. There are still tests which are set more of a memory test rather than a skills test and using more case scenarios and practical tasks would enhance them. In totality, though the faculty, course structure, and exams are largely successful, more practical session, updated courses in elective, and better methodologies of faculty coaching would go a long way.

Night Life

3

My college campus has comparatively less vibrant night life but there is enough lively ness for students to party and go after their day in class. The gym on campus is open till 8pm so students can work even late at night on the gym. All the cafeterias are closed by 12am, however there are some that are open for take away foods late in the evening on weekdays and throughout the day on weekends. There is no studied noise, rather the library closes at 10pm. The lawns and other general areas are some of the grounds within the compound that students can enjoy after evening activities; thus, making student interaction or relaxation possible.

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
