My Experience at SVNIT, Surat.

My Course is B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence which is the newest branch at SVNIT. The Curriculum of this branch is very relevant and too the point. In this branch New Education Policy is been applied and no subjects are been taught which does not help students to grow in this branch. The Subjects focuses on overall development of student and coding in AI Branch is very strictly focused upon. Two Exams are held in one semester which are mid-sem and end-sem examinations, and a couple of class test for the respective subjects.

SVNIT, Surat has various internship opportunities to enhance students academic and professional development. There are 2 internship programs held here. First, Summer Internship which has a aim to foster students intrest in their respective fields and area of intrests, the stipend is not more but is around 5,000. Second, the internship opportunities is provided by Career development cell which is provided to students after 3rd year of their B.tech Programme, here the main aim is to provide students with the experience of real world problems and to train them for future placements.

From the 6th Semester Onwards students actively participate in internships and other opportunities. Many Major Companies such as Hitachi, Larsen & Turbo, GE Vernova, TATA etc. visit the campus. The Highest package in the year 2024 is of 54 LPA which is from CSE Branch and the Average Package lies around 11-12 LPA. The Percentage of students getting placed varies from branch to branch the highest percentage of students placed are from CSE and ECE Branches.

The Institute has affordable and decent fees. The Tution Fees for Btech Students(for 4 Years) Is 5,00,000/-, Excluding the other costs. The Other costs includes exam fees, lab fees, caution fees, admission fees, and registration fees etc. which sum up to 1,11,500/- for 4 Years B.tech Program. Also the institute provides fee remission of 2/3rd% of total fees whose family income is less than 5,00,000 per annum, and complete fee remission is provided to students having family income less than 1,00,000 Per Annum.

The People of SVNIT are well - mannered (mostly) as everyone has cracked the tough exam JEE to get here. The Institues has many clubs, including technical, non-technical, cultural, sports, NCC, etc. And students here are very actively take part in those clubs. There are major fests happening like Sparsh, Kashish, CHRD, many other fests. There is cricket tournaments held between students of different years and also branch wise. The students engage in many activities that are amazing, where students get a chance to meet alumni and intereact with them and learn more.

The Institute has in-campus Hostel Facilities, which are quite good. The Fees are reasonable and services are good but not great. There are about 9 Hostels in which 8 are for boys and 1 is for girls. The Girl's hostel is newly renovated and has better amenities and facilities. The Mess food here is up to the mark and has good taste and quality.

As SVNIT, Surat is a National Institute of technology, students can get here only my clearing JEE Mains examination. This College ranks at 7 among the top NITs in India, making it a dream college for many aspirants. I choose this college on two factors, first one is my JEE mains Score which was 99%tile+ and other is that the city is not too far from my hometown. Although i applied for other NITs but i could'nt get into those due to my Score in JEE. Admission process in SVNIT is taken care of by JOSAA and CSAB. To get into AI Branch at SVNIT Students must need above 99 percentile if looking for a general seat.

The Faculty at SVNIT is well renowned. They are experienced, talented and have a very deep knowledge of their respective subjects. The Faculty here help students in every way possible and relation between students and teachers is not too much formal, students can easily approach the faculty for any assist. At SVNIT, the exams are made tougher sometimes students find hard to cope up with their studies, although students here manage to pass the exams and the number of students failing the examination is too low.

The Campus has a central gym, and each hostel has its seperate gym also. A huge central library which has all the facilities you can think of. The Public area and parks for siting and spending some time are well maintained and kept clean. But there is a huge problem of campus intime. The campus has intime of 10:30 PM, students are only allowed if they are on leave or have a letter to enter at that time. First here students have hostel intime of 10:30 PM they are not allowed outside the hostel after 10:30PM.
