Remarks

The college management was not not very quick but better planning and training from higher authorities can make the management better.

Entrance Preview

There was no exam which I needed to qualify for admission in the college. It was based on merit. The only reason I chose this college was because it was close to home. I had stayed in a hostel throughout my life so I chose to commute from home for the two years of my post graduate.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum was mildly challenging. On comparing with my alma mater this college was slightly behind in current trends in science. But it was not overly simple too.

Internships Opportunities

My college didn't have any internships. Again neither were the professors have any idea about pushing us to take up internships. I applied to another institute for a summer internship on my own and the general stipend was around 7000 INR.

Placement Experience

0.5

We had no placements or job opportunities straight out of college. This was the most badly maintained section of the university.

College Events

1

The post graduate program had a small community of students and so no events, fests were conducted. However we had small functions like fresher's and farewell which was very localized to the students of one subject.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was affordable mostly. We didn't have any donations and the total cost for semester was around 30,000 INR without including accomodation or food.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was not aware of any scholarship offered at least for my course. However the university is large and could offer for other courses.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio was good no problem with that. But there were no extracurricular activities due to small number of people. No debates no talk about cultural societies even, no sports too.

Hostel Facilities

3

I was a day scholar so I cannot say. On hearsay I believe the accommodation was expensive close to 1 lac and the food was good with enough variety.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a small social network of alumni among our batch students but there is no database for all alumni of jain university. Interactions with seniors was very limited.

Exam Structure

The exams and labs were the most structured part somehow. They were held for the right period of time with enough study leave. The paper format was also good keeping in mind all types of students.

Faculty

2.5

The faculty could have been better in terms of teaching knowledge and subject knowledge. They were way behind in their knowledge of current trends in science and social connectivity. However there was an exception and one mam stood out of the crowd so I g

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
