About Vasavi

Academically it is good and placements are good but you may not get core placement but you have a chance of getting a software job. But in my view , the college should provide opportunities towards core sector , which is most important for a student to work in a filed where he studied. I think this is negative for the college. These ideas may not come to a fresher, as I am an alumni.

Course curriculum is nice and follows osmania university in some aspects. Now there is chance for students to learn the subjects of other branches by opting for elective subjects in each semester and there are soft skills classes for all students.

Placement opportunities depends on branches. In CSE,ECE,IT almost 90% studentss get placed with an average package of 3 - 3.6 LPA. Chances for Students of remaining branches get placed is upto 70-80 %. Core companies for CSE are compulsory and it is very less for other branches ie.,1-3 core companies. From the academic year 2018 , college allows to do internship in any registered company and allows to do final project with that company.College may not provide you the internship but it allows you to attend if you find one.

There are majorly two events that are celebrated in the college ie., ACUMEN & EUPHORIA. These are generally celebrated in the second semester of the academic year ie,. During the month of March. ACUMEN is a technical fest in which every branch students showcase their technical knowledge practically like how can we use our book knowledge in real life.It will be nice watching them. EUPHORIA is a cultural fest celebrated for two days and also annual day of college is also celebrated. Sports day is celebrated and competitions are held on the occasion of sports day.

I think now the fee is so expensive. I don't think that college deserves that much fee. It was 1.15 lakh when I joined the college. But now it is 1.60 lakhs which is so expensive I feel. There is not enough ground to play and lab equipment in some labs is also very old.

Actually for the economically backward. People government offers a scholarship of full fee if the rank is below 10k and scholarship if 35k if rank is above 10k.The loan facility may not be offered by the college.

There are chances to participate in extra curricular activities but the encouragement for these activities is so less when compared to studies from the management. They didn't show much interest towards them.

There is no hostel dedicated to the college and students can stay nearer to college in Langer house or Narsingi and also in Mehdipatnam. There are many hostels in Mehdipatnam and also in Langer house with an average cost of 5-6k per month.

I don't think alumni network help so much. Some seniors are helpful. I think more needed from college side to build the gap between alumni and present students. I am an alumni now and I can help as much as I can.

I got admission through EAMCET-2014.I secured a rank of 2624 in EAMCET. I chose ECE as my branch and applied for the counselling and the result of counseling was admission into Vasavi College of Engineering, ECE branch.

There are great faculty with a lot of experience in teaching and also from great universities. All the faculty are post graduated and some faculty are so updated with current technologies and are supportive and encouraging.
