Life at VGEC college

Course in IT is highly relevent and its helpful to understand the basic concepts and course also includes the real time project which is very helpful to use your knowledge and make something big. But I think course is a bit outdated in our field as in IT field there are new technologies every day so the course should be updated. Exams of 20 marks is not taken so frequently but I think the 20 marks exam, Mid exam and Viva is enough to get fully prepared.

My college has 6 monthly fee structure which includes tuition fees and campus fees. Tuition fees are 850 and Campus fees are remaining from 1500 fees of 6 months. So yearly 3000 as my college is a government college. There is a scholarship which I am taking is MYSY scholarship which gives me 12000 /- INR for Hostel and I am paying 40000 to hostel which includes food also.

Campus life is very very interesting. There are many social activities which brings joy into college life. There are annual events like Garba, Treasure Hunt, Signature Day, Bollywood Day, Costume Day and many many more. There are many technical events like TechXIT, VGEC Coders etc. and this all events are typically held during the fest seasons or at the MID years. VishwaCup is one of the most enjoyable event which includes almost every sport. There is a full block dedicated for library and the books and facilities in library is very good. There are projectors in every rooms for digital learning and all necessary facilities in classroom is there. there is a popular social group called IEEE VGEC, Bachpan NGO which helps to promote social activities.

I have just heard about this college through my friends and family members so I have chosen it and applied and got into this. Admission process is quite simple, you just have to take all your necessary documents with you and you will be get admitted easily. Eligibility is that you have to get high rank in ACPC examination which includes GUJCATE and 12th BOARD exam in Gujarat. For other states I really don't know much. Average cutoff for this college over the years is been around 4000-5000 rank. I would rate 4/5 for admission process.

Faculties are very educated and very helpful in every situation. You can easily approach any faculty in college and he/she will help you. faculty to student ration is like 1:30 on average. Our all IT faculty are best ones and I choose all of them as I spend time with them most and they are very friendly. Exam structure is like we have to give MID sem exams and then we have practical submission and VIVAs. All over its easy to pass them all and students who fails them are very less and the one who fails are people which do not give attention in college and all. Course curriculum is highly relevant but one of the concern is its a bit outdated.

There is GYM with necessary facilites in it but I don't go GYM so don't much about it. There is a mess in Hostel which is our food corner. we often go to this place and have fun there. Library is there in college. There is no such public area in campus. Hostel timing for boys are 5 AM to 10 PM, and for Girls its 5 AM to 9 PM. There are many nearby hangout places and malls, gardens and all. I would not recommend to hangout at night outside the college. You can freely roam around inside college.
