Developing infrastructure and improving placements

IET is a pioneer institute of Uttar Pradesh and best state government college also. It has been awarded with Best Government College in North India by MHRD in the year of 2017. IET has shown substantial growth in previous years and is swiftly rising upto the standard of IITs and NITs. IET has the capability of becoming second NIT of Uttar Pradesh.

Course Curriculum is in accordance with the structure provided by the AICTE. Course followed in our college is almost similar with that being followed in other AKTU colleges. Appreciable importance is given to the subjects of practicals, seminar and projects in the course along with the conventional theory subjects in all branches of Engineering. Semester Examination system is followed in the college and both theory and practical examinations are conducted in each semester. Odd examinations are held in December while Even examinations are conducted in the month of May. The theory examination consists if 70 marks while 30 marks are given according to the sessional assessment.

Placements had not been too impressive in the college earlier but they are improving at appreciable pace. Mainly IT firms visit our college which hire students with programming background like TCS etc. So, mainly CS and IT students get placed with average package of 3.5 - 5 LPA with around 60-70% students getting placed. Other companies like Hero Motocorp, TATA Chemicals, Prism Johnson Limited, i3 consulting, Newgen, Global Logic, New Gen Apps etc. also visit our college. TCS offer two different salary scale, students getting placed under 'Digital Profile' get package of 7.20 LPA while those under 'Ninja Profile' get 3.36 LPA. There had not been too much awareness about the internships earlier but they are improving with every coming batch. Placement Cell is working very well nowadays, it has become very active. It is doing lot of work on attracting companies and improving employability skills of students simulatneously.

A lot of cultural fests like Encore and Pravah are organized. Technical fest 'Parakram' is also organized in which many teams from across the UP take part. Also our College has annual alumni meet fest which is named 'Convergence' in which alumni of our college gather and share their experiences and provide students with valuable advises which help the students carving their career.

Fee structure of IET is quite feasible and easily affordable by almost all the students. IET has one of the most economical fee structures in India. The cost of one year fees is just one lakh. A student can complete his B.tech in near about five lakhs approximately.

The Uttar Pradesh government provides scholarship to the financially underprivileged students of the college. Complete fee reimbursement plus scholarship is provided to the students whose family income falls below a certain level which is near 2-3 LPA.

There are clubs like Josh(dramatics), Insaniax(dance), Swaranjali(music), Auroras(western music), Excelsior(literary club), Nakshatra (astronomy), Rhetorica (compering team) etc. There are also sports teams for cricket basketball, taekwondo, volleyball, athletics etc. Also the Labs in IET are being renovated and refurbished. New Lab equpiments have been bought in place of old equipments.

There is an alumni meet being organised by our college annually where alumni of our college gather to share their experiences and provide studenst with valuable advises from their respective fields of careers. Seniors of IET are very supportive and helpful in many ways. They never disappoint any of their juniors regarding providing any kind of help and guidance in matters like examination, projects, personality development, placement etc.

Admission is done through the state level examination named UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination). The examination paper consists of three sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each containing 50 questions and duration is of three hours.

IET has recruited teachers recently mostly from the background of IITs. Many teachers who have been recruited have done their postgraduation from IITs so that they can inculcate the same culture which is followed in IITs and they can help in creating the same environment. But teacher to student ratio is not very impressive it is still more than 1:70. For providing industry exposure T&P cell is organizing my workshops in collaboration with companies. College has also signed an MoU with TCS regarding the same. Seminars are also being oragnized in which many start-up owners provide market knowledge and tactics for outshining others in the competition.
