Gauhati University, a review

It is a unique course giving insights into a field I'm interested in , which will be the reason I choose this course. The area of improvement could be about including teaching of more practical knowledge rather then theory and writing practicals .

We have to pay 20,000 per sem , so it is 40,000 in a year , the wildlife science course offers no scholarship or fee waiver, it is same for every categories .... but there are seats reserved for categories like SC ST OBC ex Defense personals etc ...

There are events like general freshers , varsity week , inter college weeks , saraswati puja etc where various students interact and perform together. The KK Handique library is one of the best in the region . Allmost all classes are equipped with projectors and modern amenities.

The hostels are quite good , with necessary facilities available, the food is also of decent quality and quantity.. the hostels are alloted to you on the day of admission, with the fees being very affordable .

I applied to various colleges, but the counselling for this collage was earlier, and to be honest I wanted this collage only because I was in love with the campus, so everything went well , i got seat in counseling, and I'm here now .

There are 4-5 teachers for our batch of 17 students , they are pretty approachable and helpful. We have to give 1 sessional and one final exam followed by practicals and vivas , we have activities like presentation through out the semester and dissertation which adds marks to our final score . The exams are quite challenging requiring a decent amount of knowledge to do good .

The gym , cafeterias and library are open till like 8 pm , the night life of the campus is also decent with various activities like games to play to spend time. The girls hostel timing is 9 pm whole boys hostels don't have any specific timing.
