SUAS - A Student review

The university is truly one of a kind as it has a brand new syllabus, which is industry oriented. This helps in making the students ready to work in their respective jobs from day one as industrial training has already been provided. There are also semester exchange programs being introduced to spend a semester in Germany which are exciting. There is need of more research opportunities to be provided.

The course structure is immensely skill oriented, as it is a skill university. The course dives into the industry specific classes right from the first year. The exam structure is well defined with 3 midterms per semester and an end semester exam and practical and skill viva and exams are also held.

Although, the university is newly established, it has been giving a lot of opportunities to students of each year to obtain an internship. There are interactive sessions organised to interact with the industry professionals and inquire about internships from them. Currently, I am in the first year and am undergoing my internship at a start-up, the experience has been wonderful as I get to learn a lot from the people I work with and the stipend is 2000 per month.

The college organizes two annual events, the annual fest, "Symbioz" and the techno-management fest, "TMF". Both are extravagant affairs and involve the whole college participating in a single event. Students from other universities also come to the fests, which offers a great opportunity to network with our peers.

The fees structure is ?2,50,000 for the year with a 15% increase. I would say it is pretty expensive, considering the alternatives. The tuition fees is high as it is, but also there are other overhead expenses which involve paying for the files and transportation.

The university does offer scholarship on the basis of the JEE Mains percentile to new students and to second year students on the basis of GPA. These deduct 10 percent from the total tuition fees of the year.

The university has a literature club, a photography club, a robotics club and other such societies. It is mandatory for the students to select an inter disciplinary course which involves the learning of languages like German and Spanish, classes for musical instruments, graphic designing, web designing and much more. The hostel houses a tennis court, a volleyball court, a basketball court and a cricket pitch. The labs are the best part about the university as they are the equipped with the best equipment.

Since the university is newly established, there is no alumni, but the senior students are extremely helpful and offer instant support whenever an issue is communicated to them. I had the experience to go to a hackathon with senior students and it was a very enjoyable experience.

The entrance test for the university was given in an online centre. The results were forwarded and was notified that I am eligible to take admission in the college. I went to visit the college and filled out the admission form and paid the fees for the first semester.

The faculty are all PhDs, and provide all the necessary information and knowledge concerning their subject to the fullest. They are also accessible outside the classrooms and highly encourage extra curricular activities as well.
