Overview of GEC Patan

As far as we consider that textbook knowledge is not real world knowledge. So, in that case scenario, the college provides industrial visit for improvement of real life knowledge for students. I'm now in first sem in Electronics and communication Engineering department. In the first semester the college had organized the visit at kandla port and a historical visit at Modhera sun temple.

As a first semester students I don't know properly that which companies offered internship. But as I heard from my seniors the training and placement cell of GEC Patan helps in enhancing the skills of the students as per the demand of the companies.

Normally from 6th semester students becomes eligible for campus placement but GEC Patan has very low level of placement. Only some private companies are visited for placement. I'm in first sem and I have saw only computer science department students got on campus placement here with maximum salary 5 Lpa and average salary 2-3 Lpa. That was very disappointment for me as a first year student. My plans after getting the degree that I will do post graduation from any other respective university, because I don't think so that I will get placement from here. From the placement point of view GEC Patan is very dissatisfied college.

The fees of Government engineering College Patan is approximately 3000 to 3500 like other engineering College in Gujarat. Gec patan provides scholarships for SC and ST categories students also there are no tution fees for girls. There are two different hostels for girls and boys. Hostel fees is 2000/- annually and mess fees is 2500/- monthly. College has big, green and clean campus. Mess food is also healthy and the staff maintain the hygiene as well as. There is a problem with transportation because of the rural area.

Campus Life in GEC Patan is amazing. There are many festivals like Holi, Navaratri, Ganesh chaturthi etc. are celebrated in college. There are clubs like silver clubs which was a club made by my senior. In this club they are help other students to learn web developement, coding, editing and gaming, also they keep competition every Sunday. The classroom are not upto the mark as compared to private colleges but much much acceptable in terms of the condition and working in a better way. Sports activities are also carried out.

I am from Surat and I wanted to get addmission in S.S. gandhey college, Surat but my rank was low for get addmission in surat. Through the ACPC councelling first I got addmission in GEC Dahod but I didn't like that college and in the second round I got addmission in GEC Patan. So, when I visited the this college I liked the atmosphere and infrastructure of this college. So I take addmission in GEC Patan. To get addmission in GEC Patan, you have give gujcet exam and thereafter by the ACPC councelling if you are eligible then you will get admission in GEC Patan. The faculties are very humble and helpful to the students. They are always do there best for the students. There are many faculties who has more than 15 years of experience in teaching fields. I liked prof. Maulik Patel, prof. Ashok Chaudhary, prof. Mihir Patel, prof. Harsh Bhutadiya etc, because they have lots of experience in teaching and they are very humble. From my point of view there is no any faculty which I didn't like. There are mainly taken two exams in a year, first is Mid- sem exam and second is end-semester exam. If students are fail in mid-sem exam then there was taking re-mid exam for failed students. Mostly exams are moderated not much difficult. 10% to 15 % students are unable to clear the exams because they didn't come colleges regularly.

No night life I had celebrated yet. I always used to go to home after completing my college lectures but my friends who stayed in hostel always used to travel around restaurants. Hostel has a strict timings and if anyone is out of hostel one has to return by 9:00 pm anyhow or they may call the parents/ guardians of students coming late.
