My college life

Only positive thing about this university was its name and fame that it has aquired through its parent organization but the university itself is a big failure for the management. There is a 3rd class hostel with tasteless food of the mess.

My course was Mechanical engineering which was very hectic. Exam use to held twice a semester with four surpice tests which were also counted in the calculation of overall CGPA. The final exam consists of whole syllabus being taught for six months with a maximum marks of 100, in which a student needs to score atleast 40% in order to pass that subject.

There are no 100% placements among different courses, as the university was established only 5 years ago, but they assured that 75% of placements are available for the B.Tech students. However, approximately 250 companies visit here every year in search of talented and deserving students. But mostly the companies were of BPO and sales marketing. There were very rare core companies that vvisited for the campus placement.

The campus crowd is from every part of the north, from Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, to Assam. Events are conducted at random time intervals. Everyone has an equal and good opportunity in extracurricular activities to show or to enhance their talents. There are many clubs formed for various societies which celebrate each and every event with great enthusiasm and zeal. Annualy a fest called UTSAV is being celebrated where usually a celebrity comes for performing as well.

Fees is a bit on the higher side. Yet several financial options such bank loans and scholarships are being provided. The B.Tech(HONS) has a term fee of 114000. This is however reduced by scholarship cum entrance exam by upto 50% as well as EDB benefits of around 10000 rs per semester.

The Scholarship cum Entrance test provides the students with means to reduce the academic fees with scholarships upto 50%. I received 50% scholarship. We also have scholarships on basis of JEE MAINS exam of upto 90%. There are sports scholarships as well which have 100% deduction. There are scholrships for minorities as well.

Various clubs were formed in the university which organized several events from time to time. There were various labs for different departments such as physics lab, chemistry lab, mechanical engineering labs such as fluid mechanics, automobile lab, etc.

Yes, I am the part of a society called Student Alumni Interaction Cell which aims to bridge the gap between juniors, seniors, and alumni. So they are very helpful in the development of such relationships.Seniors are helpful they'll guide us when in need.there is no ragging here which is the good thing and the seniors are always friendly in helping us the share all their experiences with us.

Didnt do well in the JEE exam. One day came to know about a admission college fair in the city, attended that and got to know about this college. The same day one of my uncles came to my house and suggested the same collge to my father and then my admission at collge was decided over a cup of tea.

Teachers in the college are highly qualified and helpful to the students in studies as well as in other problems. Most of the teachers are PhD holders. Their way of teaching is quite impressive. They are very cooperative, and they try to make students understand the concepts of their subjects. The course curriculum is useful. Proper study materials are provided to the students for a better understanding of the course.
