What Students Say
Likes
- I liked some of the professors of subjects like structure, transportation, and water resources
- The infrastructure is quite good having the 750 acres of land area.
- The college has so many clubs of cultural and technical aspects
Dislikes
- I lack some guidance from my seniors as they are not so much interested in us
- The college primarily focus on academics not on overall growth
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is mostly based on the common syllabus with GATE exam We got to learn some softwares like AUTOCAD and STAD Pro which are used in real word application. The college should also focuses on better placement for students and appoint some good teachers from IITs and NITs as the college is doing now The exams at every level are not difficult if you have studied enough and they happened in a regular intervals
Internships Opportunities
The student is free to do internship of their choice and also the professors guide to join various departments of government for internship I have done internship in WRD Bilaspur Which is unpaid for about 30 days. I have prepared a report on some projects like Shivghat Barrage, Khutaghat Dam and Lagra Anicut. And got to know about various things and related the course study with real life examples
Placement Experience
After 7th sem exam the student is eligible for the placements. The placements are very less in this college specially in civil engineering department. Some of the companies have visited like Jhajharia Nirman, Thermax global etc Highest may be 6-7 lac and not sure about avg package 3-4 students were placed in my batch out of 50. I am preparing for UPSC after my degree
Fees and Financial Aid
My year wise fees varies from ?27600 to ?28000 . I have submitted ?2000 as caution money. Admission fees and all other starting chargers were involved in the counselling fees of JOSAA. Tech fees was ?500 and others were included in the tution fees only I am from UP so I couldn't get scholarship benefits from my state and NSP as well so I had to pay full fees by my own. But the student of the Home State ( Chhattisgarh) got full scholarship benefits from the state government.
Campus Life
Cultural fest and technical fest (Equilibrio) held in the last year of my college life The library is vast and consist of majority of Indian authors. The class room are dual boards I.e, having chalk board as well as digital board. Infrastructure is quite good overall and the departments of engineering are allotted new and separate buildings with labs and separate library
Admission
I got BIET Jhansi and GEC Bijnor from a state counselling but from JOSAA i got GGU so I thought of choosing a central university over a state college and also the fees is low in this college that's why I chose this college The process for admission is simple you have to give JEE Mains exam by which you have to do JOSAA counselling and just after confirming your seat during JOSAA counselling a mail will be dropped of information about when to physically verify your documents and hence your admission is confirmed.
Faculty
There are 17 professors in total and 50 students in a single batch. Some professors were really good while some are not. Professors of structure, transportation, water resources are the best among them while one professors of soil of the two was worst. MC Rao sir, Adheesh sir, Prakhar sir, Nikhil Verma sir, Ashish Parashar sir were the best among all as of there teaching styles and knowledge throughout the subject While Vinod sir was the worst in all aspects of teaching The college conducted exams semester wise and within a semester 2 class test were also conducted. Semester exam was of 70 marks and class tests are of 30 marks (15 marks each) So overall 100 marks per subject and Lab subject are of 50 marks Exam level is moderate one who is a average student can easily pass exams and if he fails he a second chance to get clear of that back with the juniors when they will give the same subject exam during there semester exams
Night Life
Gym is not in a great condition And the night life in campus is also not so joyful And also I live outside the campus so I am not sure about the in campus feel of nightlife but there were restrictions in hostels about timings like 8pm for boys and 6pm for girls. Outside college some malls and cafes are there to hangout Bilasa taal is the nearest place to sit and spare time with friends
