Strictly Average College

The college can be made better if the teachers are more serious with their work and the college should also focus in bringing better placements for its students. The students should also cooperate and make the college more lively. Extra curriculars should be made a part of the curriculum if necessary. Also an internship before graduation would boost the student's calibre.

The college is affiliated to the Calcutta University and hence follows the rules and regulations of the University. The curriculum is nicely distributed within the 3 years study plan. However I would like to complain about the implementation of the new developments that are happening around us in the course. The implementation of new updated syllabus takes ages. The exam structure consisted of: 1. Mid Term Test - Taken in the college itself which had no impact on the actual report card. 2. Annual Test - Taken in a different college by calcutta University. The marks obtained is showcased in your report card.

There is no such internships provided by our college. However placements and job oppurtunities are definitely present and take place in the last year of your college. However the annual package lies around 2 - 3 LPA.

The events that are celebrated in our college - 1. Republic Day 2. Saraswati Puja 3. Independence Day 4. Rabindra Jayanti 5. Annual Sports 6. Fresher's Welcome 7. Annual Fest Please not that the events that are held in the college and not participated by all the students. The events are generally organized and executed by the Student's Union with the support of a few professors.

Scholarships/ Loan facilities are not provided as the college as the fees are on the lower side and there is no requirement for load. However the government scholarships (if any) can be used in the college. Generally no people require to take a loan provided the fee structure. However you can still take loans from the PSU banks and it will be easily made avaialble.

The extracurricular activities in the college are very minimum. Only basic labs are present in the college. Sports cannot be held in the college due to lack of a field. The sports competion is gennerally held outside the college.

There is no such hostel facilities provided by the college. Regarding the infrastruce of the college, the college is fairly small in size. It isnt spacious but enough to hang out and play some indoor games like tennis, table tennis, badminton, carrom so on. A small canteen is there which serve you nice foods and soft drinks. However, there is a very big library and the classrooms are extremely big and spacious. The toilets can be improved and a provision for lift should me made in the college.

The alumni network isnt a very strong on. However the seniors were extremely helful during my stay in the college. The Student's Union was always present at the college to help each and every student in their needs.

The admission college starts in this college with the filling up of the form with all the subjects or coursed you want to opt for and also submitting marks obtained in Class XII Board exams. Then, the college releases the merit list of the students. Generally it goes upto the 3rd/ 4th Merit list. After you name is put up on the merit list, you are given a date to visit the college and finish you admission process which includes verification of all documents and paying the admission fees.

The faculty of the college is extremely talented and consists of both Permamnet Faculty and Guest Lecturers. However, being a government aided college, the professors are very lethargic and often misuse their power by reducing class timing and lacks sincerity.
