Remarks

Being a govt-aided college, the infrastructure and facilities are really not something one might consider as top-notch or best. The management too can be pretty careless and inconsiderate at times. However the best outcome from the fact is that the college enjoys experienced and skilled faculty members.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum of the college adheres to that of the University of Calcutta. It has been updated recently from its 20th century predecessor to match up with the present world scenario. An Honours degree in English comprises of an array of literary works ranging of the medieval Britain to the contemporary India. The course is divided into 6 semesters. In each semester there is one internal exam of 10 and a project of 10 marks. The end-sem exam is carried out by the university out of 80 marks.

Placement Experience

2

Being a college without any professional courses to offer, placement opportunities are fairly minimal. However, few courses like Journalism & Mass Communication are known to provide internship opportunities in different media houses. Graduates in IT courses also are known to attract internship opportunities.

College Events

3.5

There are two primary events celebrated in the college. One is the college freshers event organised in honour of the newly admitted students in the month of August-September. The other event is the College social or College Fest which is organised in the months of January-February

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is pretty inexpensive. Being a government aided college, the students enjoy a hefty amount of government subsidies which reduces the academic expenditure to practically nothing. It is justified to comment that pursuing a graduation course is super cheap in this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship facilities are provided by the college to the students who are eligible. A student known to have secured rank amidst of the college is rewarded with different awards sponsored by the alumni association. A dedicated fund is present to help poor students with their studies. In case of severe financial incompetence student's tuition fees too is subsidised by the Students Union fund.

Campus Life

1.5

Sports is a common field of excellence among the students. Annual sports tournaments are carried out every year and students are felicitated for their achievements. The college boasts a well-equipped laboratory for the students.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students of the college are always stays by the juniors to guide them throughout their time in college. The passed-out students too maintain a healthy correspondence with the present pupils and are always inclined to help them in every possible way.

Admission

The admission process begins with filling up the admission form via internet. Upon submission the application will be reviewed by the concerned authority of the college. Meanwhile, the candidate must submit the application fees via SBI Collect; directions are provided in the official website mmccollege.co.in. Retain the payment receipt and wait for college to publish the provisional merit list of the course that the candidate has enrolled in. Soon after the publication of merit list, a notice will be circulated specifying the date and venue of counseling. The candidate(s) who have enrolled are to be present in the counselling session. Names will be called according to the rank in the merit list. Upon invited, the candidate has to submit all the necessary academic documents and payment receipts. Once cross-checked by the panel, the admission will be confirmed on the spot and the student will be asked to deposit the admission fees to the bank via online payment portals and submit the receipt to college office. After the payment receipt of admission fees is submitted the procedure is officially over. On the day of orientation further academic brochures and schedules will be distributed.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is well-experienced and professional. Most of the faculty members are well-established academics and keep themselves updated with the present course structures around the world. Most of the faculty members are pretty considerate and remain inclined to guide the students with their academic endeavours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because it has lots of scope in future to get a job and also it is a good subject or my National language. In this college lots of faculty has been given to the students. Well, I am also a new student but I can say that all teaching and non teaching staff and also the office staff are very humble to the students and they help us a lot. I am in B.A. 1st year student and lots of faculty has been given by our beloved teachers and office staff. The teachers are very humble by nature and the way they taught us is really mind blowing I am very grateful that I am a student of those teachers. In every 6 months, you have to give one semester examination and as I already told you that I am a new student and my exam is in February month so I do not have experience with the paper and how difficult it to pass but I can say you read properly you can pass the exam in Good marks.
