Remarks

Positive in the aspect of Academics,Labs,Clinical facilities and exposure,Faculty,Fees and other expenses,a great name as an Alma mater etc Negative in the aspect of hostel facilities but not so bad and the large no of students in each class.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I think the curriculum is perfect to make a doctor practise in our Country as well as in other foreign countries. It almost covers all the specialities currently available in the medical field atleast briefly. The course is 4.5 years (1+1.5+1+1) and 1 year rotating internship. Annual University exams are conducted by KUHS and the final MBBS exam should be passed in order to start the internship.

Placement Experience

4.5

Infact I think there is no much explanation needed about the job opportunities for a doctor in modern medicine. After the course one can pursue various options like Post Graduation in any of the specialities either from India or from abroad,Enter Government Service (State/Central),Can become a GP,Can work in private clinics or hospitals. Internship is mandatory-25000 per month- 1 year.

College Events

3.5

New Year, Republic day, Bakrid, Diwali, Onam- It is the most colourful event of the college. There will be a feast, pookalam, many competitions etc. Independence day-Includes flag hoisting, sweet distribution etc. Doctors day, Christmas,

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feesible for a middle class family as well as for a lower class family if you got any scholarship or you belong to OBC,SC or ST. The total tution Fees is 1,25,000 plus exam fees and miscellaneous fee of 3000 each year. Total expenses will be around 1.5 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college makes various government scholarships available for the students like MOMA, EGrants, Scholarship for the Children of Soldiers, Scholarship for students from North East and UTs. Scholarship for Disabled childrenetc. They also helps us to avail educational loan from various banks like SBI.

Campus Life

3.5

Best among the medical colleges in Kerala in Sports,Arts and various quiz programmes, exhibitions and debates. Won the championship several times in events like All Kerala Intermedicos championship conducted among the medicos in kerala, events conducted by the KUHS etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel and Infrastructure and infact not so good when compared to other facilities like academis, labs and clinical exposure. It can be given a rating of 3/5.The problem is large no of students and the lesser no of rooms available.

Alumni/Alumna

Calicut Medical College Alumni Association is very famous as a network of famous doctors They do various welfare activities for the colleg as well as for the students like PG entrance coaching. Providing economic support etc.

Admission

I wrote the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) conducted by CBSE in 2015. I Scored 560/720 marks and a All India Rank 1199. I got admission in this College through the 15% All India quota in State Medical Colleges. The allotment was conducted by Medical Council of India (MCI).

Faculty

3.5

We are under the guidance of the most talented and famous doctors in our state. Most of the doctors are well known in their respected field of speciality like Medicine,Surgery,Pediatrics etc. Many of them are also taken various courses from abroad.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
