Remarks
All in all the college is the number 1 College in the Hospitality Sector, but the dire need for proper infrastructure is something which slightly makes it limp in the long race for glory. The placements are a delight but the attitude of faculty can be something which could be worked upon.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure involves subjects which play an important role in the hospitality industry since the course is BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration which are Food Production, Front Office, Accommodation Operations and Food & Beverage Service along with Accountancy and Computers relating to the course. The exam structure involves regular mid terms and practicals and final semester end exams and the cumulative marking at the end of the semester.
Placement Experience
The placements from this college are talked about all over the country. It boasts of the maximum placement in its field of competition. The internships provided are also commendable. Though the stipend ranges from ?700-?4000 for a month. The experience is what comes in handy for the rest of an individual's life as the internships provided through the college are of great quality and worth striving for.
College Events
The college mainly focuses on events which are related to the Hospitality Industry. There are various theme lunches, celebrating ethnic diversity and their cuisines. There are campaigns and events for government initiatives too. Annual events for the college and sports events are also organised
Fee Structure And Facilities
Looking at the course the fee structure is comparatively low as compared to private colleges. The fees is approximately ?1,00,000 per year and the course completion is around ?3,00,000 for the three year course. This involves the IGNOU fees (which give us the BSc Degree) along with lunch expenses which are provided in the college itself
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship offered to under privileged students by the ministry in collaboration with the college is more or less the only scholarship facility available for the students and that too is restricted to certain sections of the population. There is no loan facility, rather the dues need to be paid as soon as possible otherwise there are many complications
Campus Life
Since it is a professional course, the inclination towards extra curricular activities is negligible. Though there are a music society, a dance society, an Orator Club and Annual Sports events are also organised but not extensively
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure is poor and the charges are round about ?70,000 for a year. The fees includes accommodation and meals. The building is old, it's almost 50 years old and there is no arrangements for the heat. Thus it's very hard to survive in summers
Alumni/Alumna
At times there are alumni and senior students who go out of their way to help and assist you. The industry this college deals with requires connections. Hence its never a bad idea to have seniors you are in contact with. There are networks which are recognised by the college as well and they can be handy at times. But only if you know your way around.
Admission
I applied for the NCHMCT which is the National Council for Hotel Management Entrance for BSc HHA and my AIR was 91 hence I got to choose my preferred college , Document verification was done which was followed by the payment of fees and final admission
Faculty
The faculty has a mixture of experienced but slightly insensitive personnel. Their knowledge about their respective fields is commendable but their efforts can be a matter of debate at times. There are instances wherein the aid given by the faculty is highly appreciable but at times its otherwise.
