Remarks
The Institute is simply excellent and is worth the efforts we had put to get into. I have completed almost half of the journey which was really amazing and hope to have even better leaning experience in the coming years.
Course Curriculum Overview
The IITs have different curriculums based on the professors opinion. The semester lasts for around 4 months. The exams structure is 2 Quizzes and an End semester exam. The GPA is calculated for each semester.
Placement Experience
Everything is excellent from the placements to the internship. The packages vary from the branch to branch. There is Placement Team and an Internship Team, student bodies working constantly for the betterment of both the processes.
College Events
There are various events going around in IITM throughout the year. Noteworthy are the Cultural fest; Saarang and the Technical fest; Shaastra. Both the fests are run by students only and they are the biggest of the country.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are nominal compared to rest colleges. They are 25k for Hostels and Mess facility. Tuition fees are around 1 Lakh per semester. The fees vary for each semester depending upon the administration.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Scholarship facility is provided by the institute as well as The State Bank of India branch situated in the college campus. There are various opportunities for students based on their past achievements.
Campus Life
All the extra curricular activities are excellent. We have professional quality sports infrastructure and innumerable clubs which are mostly run by students only add a lot of value to the experience one can have apart from academics.
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni network is very strong. We have Alumni Relation Team which constantly works on this and have established portal and other ways for students to interact with the alumni and for the alumni to contribute to the institute.
Admission
IITs intake students only through IITJEE. I got into IITM in 2017 with a AIR 8689. JEE has two levels, JEE Main and the JEE Advanced. Around 15 Lakh students appear for the JEE Main through which Top 2 Lakh students qualify for JEE Advanced. Final Top 40k students make it to the Rank List. However the seats in the IITs are limited to around 10k.
Faculty
The IITs are the premier institutes of India. So no any doubt on the faculty. They are the best in the country. Sometimes you may find the junior level professors not that good however all the senior faculties are more than excellent.
