Remarks
The only negative i find in the institute is its management which is a hit questionable. Otherwise everything is smooth. The CRP team is very good and they always bring good companies for placement. The placement of GBS is one of the best in Kolkata right now.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very fruitful for the candidate as it is not only based on classroom learning, there is something called beyond education initiative in GBS. There are 4 semesters. And there are mid semesters in the first and second semester.
Placement Experience
This year for the 2017-19 batch, 100% of the students are placed in various companies. The highest package offered was 17 lakhs. And the median salary was 5 lakhs. Summer internship is provided by the institute itself and the companies offer good stipend for the same. I did my internship in Reliance Retail and i was offered a stipend of Rs 15000 for two months.
College Events
The most talked about event in GBS is SERENDIPITY. it is a live project through which students are exposed to finance, marketing, hr, operations all at once, because the event is fully planned and organised by the students. There is an NGO called Kalyani which looks after the poor kids and poor citizens by touching their lives in various ways. Anondo Utsav is one such event where hundreds of students come from the institute locality schools and various competitions are organised for them. They are also accompanied by their parents who sell different kinds of hand made food.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is very reasonable for a MBA course. For my year the course fee was 7.10 Lakhs. But this time they have increased the amount. The new amount is Rs 7.50 lakhs. There is also another programme called PGPM-IB whose course fee is 7.90 lakhs
Fees and Financial Aid
The institute have launched scholarship programme this year only and i am not fully aware of the terms and conditions of it. For more details the interested student or parent can visit the institute website and check the same.
Campus Life
There is a sports event every year called Titanium. Different kinds of sports are played like Badminton, Cricket, Football, volleyball as well as indoor games like carrom, table tennis etc. There is also a separate games room in the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni and senior students of GBS are very faithful to the institute and they still visit the campus whenever they get time and they try to help the current students by imbibing their experiences during their MBA days.
Admission
First i was asked to provide my academic details. Then i was called for GAT(Globsyn aptitude test), GD and PI. If you are selected then you will be informed by phone by the institute. The Globsyn Aptitude test was very easy. Anyone with a bit of practice can crack it easily.
Faculty
The faculties of Marketing and Finance are the best to be honest. The HR faculties are also very good. They always help you whenever you need them. They all have industry Knowledge which they embed on us.
