Likes
- Not just the faculties but students here are equally supportive as one can run shoulders with seniors with ease.
- No form of discrimination based on anything be it caste or religion is ever entertained at the campus.
- There are fewer departments and therefore the amount of footage or the attention that we get even from the likes of HOD and Principal is heart warming.
Dislikes
- The campus is like the smallest of the smallest as just one building divided in three halves is what we have in terms of campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course is not limited to B.Com as students here also pursue CA, CFA and other courses alongside. Our college has provisions for all and we are also pushed to pursue something alongside. Enriching course is what we have and students do have to tpil really hard as our B.Com Hons course too is tougher than many elite universities like the DU or Kolkata Uniyfor that matter.
Placement Experience
Placements here are really good as even B.Com (Hons) students enjoyed placements worth 10 lakhs or even more sometimes. The big 4 and consulting groups like the Boston Consulting Company and the Bain Capital are some of the big names that comes here for placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
JDBI is affiliated Kolkatas most famous Jadavpur University. Even though we are smallest of campuses and have just a few courses, still the fees is 62800 a year. The fees is not moe or less but the state government have various scholarships program and students of reserved category therefore enjoy 100% concession on their tuition fees.
Campus Life
Our college area is less than one acres and therefore no point discussing the infrastructure. One three floor building with admin department and 20+ classrooms. 4 labs and one auditorium is all we have. We also have 2 recreation rooms as there's no outdoor sports facilities at our campus. The garden beside the building is lightning though.
Hostel Facilities
College doesn't provide any hostels but we donhave private hostel in college vicinity and most girls who are from outside Kolkata stay here. The fees is quite high as it is 1.8 lakhs a year and yes it's inclusive of food and all.
Admission
Admission here depends on your 12th grade and we also have a test on checking our English. Students who fail there even if he/she has good grades in 12th stands not eligible. Only 60 students per class so admission becomes that tough and this is why students run in to get admission here.
Faculty
Faculties at JDBI are the ones who have experience more than one can imagine and knowledge is beyond immitation. Mr Rahul Gupta who teaches us accountancy is crowd charmer as his teaching ability is God level.
Night Life
For best shopping experience in Kolkata Gariahat is best and it's very close to our college. We also have Birla Templemclose to our campus. For reasonable food there's Shree Hari Cafe and if one wants to explore best fancy cafes then we have the cafes called Spice Kraft and Cafe by the Lane.
