IIIT-B A HUB OF INNOVATION AND EXPERIENCE

The course curriculum is one of the main reason why i chose this college they dont teach like that old curriculum where you need to study subject which you will not use like chemistry and ll , we are taught industry level subject from the 1st sem only like coding languages, probablity , digital design , economics and in 2nd sem we have DSA, Computer aarchitecture and all maths and computer courses only , we are having the oppurtunity that from 3rd year we will choose 4-5 electives only as such no compulsory subject so we can also do a minor in AIML /VLSI stuff or a Honors in CSE which provides a lot of flexibility to us like we can find our interest and pursure them , our course i guess dont need any improvement as it is one of the best in the cse industry , we are taught how to do group project liek we do in comany and many other stuff which helps deficitely and the frequency of exams is like in 2 months midsem then after 2 months endsems and 2 quizes in between and the timing is like the paper is around 2-3 hour the sem exams and the quizzes mostly of around 45 mintutes to an hour.

We get many internship opportunities in/out the campus , infact we also have people doing internship in 2nd year on many companies , our college also provides internship in MOSSIP(an organisation run by the college) , there is GS with 1 lpa stiped, people crack GSOC here with 80k-1.25lakh and in this college amazon gives a lot of internship opporutnities with stiped around 75k-1.5lakh and many more companies, the avergae internship stipend is 70k this year for cse and highest isi 1.75 lakh.I dont have much knowledge about projects as i am in first year

The college placements are very excellent for the IMtech CSE we have average package of 33.4 lakhs and the meadican package is about 28 lakhs and the groudn report is that many good companies like google ,microsoft ,paypal ,amazon etc come every year and they recurit like 4-5 people each company which is very good in my opinion , the total no of offers made were 511 (278 were full time offers and 311 internship offers), the highest package is 65 lakh but a year back it was 2 cr , in imteach cse the percentage of students placed are 90 percent , and an internship for 100% people, so i geniuenly also joined this clg because of the placement stats and i will aslo sit in the college placement and want to be placed in a FAANG company.

The tution fees for BT-CSE is :- Rs.2,30,000(Year 1 and 2) , Rs.2,76,000(Year 3 and 4) totalling it for the duration fo 4 years it is 20 lakhs 20 thousands approx,The hostel residential program is compulsory for all the students and the hostel fees is Rs. 40000 per semester and mess food and catering cost for per semester is 28,800. They also provide you with medical insurance of 2000 yearly and we need to give some depsoits as library and caution deposit which equals roughly around 19000 which is refundable . There is no reservation policies(like SC/ST) here so there is no different fees structure for any student of BT-CSE.The college provides Utkarsh scholarship in which for the top 5 ranker in jee mains under CRL 999 will get 100% fee waiver in tution fees. We also have a dean's list scholarship (in which a specific set of students having CGPA 3.6+/4 are enlisted in this and depending on the availibality of funds a certain percentage of stduents are awarded a scholarship of Rs 50,000 per year.

We have annual cultural fest that is INFIN-8(jan/feb) and our tech fest is - Synergy(oct/nov) , we also have many sports fests like Spandan(jan), Umang(nov) etc. They are manyu clubs in this college and you can taka part in them and there are many competitions also organised by club and by active participatioon eventually some people also become club member by end of 1st sem only , some common clubs are zense (coding club),camp (competitve programming) ,symphony(music club), dance club , 8-bit(literature club), art club , photography and many more , the classrooms are very good , having AC and multiple screens and good systems along with good seating capacity and condition , we can also do enterpreneurship as we have and E-cell and also our college own incubation centre , overall we have a very good hostel life having lots of activites and fun.when it comes to library we have mostly our course books only and only a limited no of fiction and story book s, although there are a lot of journals and research papers also available.

In the room , in first year we are provided a 3- sharing room ,we aere provided with a bed, a table ,an almirah , a shelf , rest all items you need to have with you , the rooms are in very good condition, the elctricty supply is always there , the wifi is excellent in the college. When it comes to meal quality and mess food , there is absolutely no doubt we have the best mess food like its very good if we compare , we have a lot of varities and menu always keep changing and hygiene is there and there is taste in food. The hostel accomodation is compulsory in this college and the cost is 39000 per sem and mess cost is 29000 per sem .

So I was getting IIT Mandi Mechanical , VIT-CSE ,IIIT-Allahabad- ECE(CSAB) but i chose this college because of the quality of education and the course curriculum along with the good placement every year and when i consulted and talked with many people who are working in industry they told that CSE is the future branch so yeah and also the city is banglore itself which impacts very much and also i thought that when i am getting CSE in a tier -1 institute it is best to take it over other options. IIIT-B provides UG admission on the basis of only JEE Mains CRL, there is no reservation policy here , the cutoff for BT-CSE was about CRL-8700 (99.4 percentile approx) the overall admission process is very smooth it mostly online and we also have one offline campus round in which we can sure shot confirm our seat .

The faculty to student ratio data is not available yet but yeah it is very good as for each course almost we have different faculties who are Ph.D in that field so they make sure that we undertsand and feel that subject , the faculty support is also very good like you can mail them any time, all the doubts will be entertained ,they even give you some extra marks if you are on grade boundary . Now coming to exams , it just depends on the proffesor but yeah mostly we have a midsem exam , one endsem , 2-3 quizzes and yeah 4-5 assignments also , and all of these are graded , The course curriculum is very tailored as per the industry like we dont need to study all that PCM, mechanical, civil stuff from the 1st sem only we study CSE subject like coding languages C&Python, Probablity , Calculus,Digital design.. the exam difficulty depends on the proffs onky but yeah its never too extreme till now like the class avg mostly is above 50% of the total marks , there are barely 7-8 students who fail the course and they are even allowed grade improvement exams and they are also given special attention if the CGPA is low than 2.7/4

Actually the college campus is very small but it is in the main city of banglore so if we talk about night life it is mostly outside the college , in the college aslo we have vending machines, gym(seperate for boys and girls), library is inside the campus very good, we also have a canteen but not an cafetaria but we have almost all mc-d, dominos, pizza hut , kfc and ll within radius of 1-2 km of clg and many more things to do , you can roam anytime in the college there are no hostel timings but the college curfew timings is (10:30pm-5:30am) , although 2 curfew breaks are allowed every month , yeah it is absolutely safe to roam around at night , i almost do it every night , the college campus is very safe and secure.
