Remarks
The college is good for students who wants to do graduation in commerce. The professors are great and they help a lot whenever required. The college has a non political union which helps the students in various activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is well sorted. I had one final exams at the end of each year but now the systems have changed under Calcutta University and the semester systems have begin. The students are required to give 2 exams each year under the new system.
Placement Experience
Companies do come down for placements. I got a job in TCS from the campus itself. The placements can get better I feel. Ther aren't too many opportunities to avail from the campus. The jobs provided from the campus are good enough for an experience though.
College Events
Many events are celebrated in our college. Teacher's day, annual functions, fests, Holi festival, foundation day and many such events. Guests are brought in from outside to perform in our college and the events are usually a big hit.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible in my opinion. It is not that high and neither very low. A rough 10000 - 15000 Indian money is needed each year to continue education in this college. And, something around 500 -700 is needed for extra activities.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is this Kanyashree scholarship available for certain students I thinking. I am not very sure about the scholarship part because I myself never availed it or knew about any scholarships during my time in the college.
Campus Life
I have never been into any kind of extra curricular activities or sports during my time in the college. But I am aware that every year an annual sports meet takes place in a stadium where the students take part and compete against each other.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students are helpful. They have helped me whenever I needed help and passed on their experience and guided me accordingly. The non political union here also helped me do the same and am thankful for it.
Admission
I got 88.25% in my class 12 boards and it was good enough to get me into this college on the basis of their merit list. Sivanath Sastri College gives out a merit list wherein all the eligible students' names are given.
Faculty
The professors are very helpful in this college but there surely is a problem with the office staff. They do not work according to the way they should and are way too much slow and careless regarding many important things.
