Fair Institution if you know what you wish to do (career-wise)

Overall I would say it has been a good enough experience. But in technical courses like B.Tech, you mostly gotta work on your own, but being in College helps. It gives u the confidence to face the world and IEC comes out on the front lines here.

Curriculum is designed by the accredating University, which in this case is A.P.J. Abdul Kalam technical university, lucknow. The curriculum is average in terms of quantity and as for the quality, I would say it makes u work and know what you will generally have to know in your work life.

I have no knowledge of IEC personally providing any internships, however, they do allow third party companies to come and establish a sorry of small office setup and provide the students with opportunities to apply their as part time or even full time workers.

Placements as anywhere in the technical grounds are solely dependent on the merit and knowledge of the candidate. Here in IEC the same rule applies. Give the apptitude tests, clear it, clear other various tests given and presto you have got people to impress in front of you. There is no limit to the scouts that come from various small, medium, as well as high scale companies and organisations.

A semester generally starts with Saraswati Puja, which is celebrated by both students and faculties. Then there are various tech-fest tasks and celebrations held. Also various hackathons and competitive exams are held either within or in sponsorship of other colleges.

Fee structure at IEC is fairly average. I wouldn't say it is cheapest or even cheap per say but I would say that any middle class or lower middle class family would be able to afford sending their ward in the College without much difficulty.

Scholarships within school is based on merit and not any other reservation sevice. However the scholarship that is funded by government comes from AKTU itself for those who can't afford the tuition fee. The scholarship I availed comes from the diploma merit section in which I was given a wave off of 10K based on my performance in diploma std.

Labs are not that extensive but are fairly practical, as for sports, major sporting events are held once a year which are available for all students and are given prizes and certificated for their achievements.

Hostels are standard 2 person room sets with a cupboard and a shelving area. It is a simple structure with standard amenities as required and needed by a student studying in the College. Boys hostel is a bit farther away from the College than the girls one, but it still is reachable on foot easily.

Alumni as I have seen are quite extensively placed in some of the better positions in major organisations. However they are small in quantity and far in between. It takes major talent to catch the eyes of scouts and while IEC can help u there, you would have to work your pants off. :)

Exams are held in 2 phases in IEC. There are the standard Sessional exams, that are held twice a semester which are basically class. Tests for a relatively small amount of syllabus. And then there is the P.U.T. which is Pre-University test.

I gave AKTU Entrance exam for diploma candidates and secured a position which enabled me to choose IEC as a college. The counselling procedure was based online and included priority filling in terms of which Colleges to choose from

Faculty is tough spot. There are times you get not so good a person teaching you, and there are also times when u get an awesome professor. So i guess I would say it's a 60/40 shot of getting and not getting a decent professor.
