Course review of Bachelor of Computer Application

Positive-: 1) As the institution is situated in the city of lakes, students get a lot of opportunities to enjoy the scenic view of the city. 2) This college will provide you with plenty of opportunities to grow as an individual, so I would suggest you make most of it. Negative-: 1) You might find a hard time in finding a people who are career driven, which is a bit demotivating, and if don't find people like that don't worry because the faculties are very supportive and will help you with every small little thing. (just saying)

Honestly, the course structure for my batch is a little outdated and I am enrolled in the annual scheme so the number of subjects that are being taught to us is comparatively less to that of a semester student. But after our batch, the university started a semester system which was upgraded with more and advanced subjects plus you will have a compulsory internship which helps in getting a better insight into the industry. You'll not only have subjects related to programming but also related to business that will help you in becoming a professional developer. Throughout your journey, you'll be asked to give seminar, assignments and most importantly a lot of exams. The curriculum also comprises of a final project, where you'll have a chance to show your creativity and develop something. Overall the curriculum is good and insightful, even if you are someone with no programming background you'll be able to learn a lot and will have fun coding.

An internship was not a part of our curriculum but they made it compulsory for the upcoming batches. Since there is one more year left before they apply for their internships, therefore I cannot say much about it.

BCA being a bachelor degree, not a lot of companies hire students, almost all of the students prefer doing a master degree before getting their first job, but for those who are interested in doing a job, the local IT companies do come for placement.

Events are not specifically organized for BCA students but are organized for the entire science college and one for the entire university. For selecting university counsel every year elections are held which are fun, especially for first-year students.

BCA being a professional course is expensive compared to other courses at Mohanlal Sukhadia University. But when we look at the bigger picture it is not that expensive. In my opinion, it is feasible as it ranges between 80,000-90,000 for "three years".

Scholarship 1-: Need-cum-Merit Scholarship- Candidates having 60% or more marks and an annual income of their parents should be decided by the state government are eligible. Scholarship 2-: National Scholarship- Candidates having a first division or 60% or more marks in their graduation are eligible. There are plenty of chances for you to showcase your talents in various fields. You can either join NCC or any sports team you wish to be a part of. To flaunt your dancing, singing, and other talents you can participate in various events organized by the university and science college.

I myself am a day scholar and a localite so I don't know much about hostel but one of my friends is a hosteler. According to him, it is just like any other hostel, almost all the facilities are average.

Senior students are very helpful, they will help you in all aspects of your college life from getting notes arranged to guide you towards your future endeavors. Being a BCA student it is very important to stay connected to your senior as they will also help in finding and implementing ideas for your final year project. If you have ample connections then only you will be able to land with a good internship.

The exam structure varies for students enrolled in the annual scheme to that of the semester scheme. For students having : 1) Annual Scheme-: The scenario is pretty simple as they are supposed to give only the final exams throughout their year and subject wise seminar(**not in all subjects). The final exams will consist of practicals and theory papers. 2) Semester scheme-: Students will be having 2 semesters in one year. In every semester the students need to give a seminar(**not in all subjects), mid-term exams and the final exams. Both the final exams and mid-term exams will consist of practicals and theory papers.

Steps you need to follow to get admission in Mohanlal Sukhadia University for Bachelor of Computer Application (** different course might have different criteria) : 1) You need to fill an online application form for getting admission in the course. Forms are either out in the month of "May" or "June", if you are interested then better keep an eye on the official website of Mohanlal Sukhadia University (i.e. www.mlsu.ac.in) around this time of the year. 2) Once you have completed all the formalities of online admission you need to submit a hard copy of those documents in the college. 3) Then a merit list will be generated based on your class 12th percentage, the board of examination and caste category. If you will pass their criteria then you'll get a call for counseling from the college authorities. 4) Once you get a call via phone, message or email get into action mode and mark your calendar for the counseling date. 5) On the counseling date, you'll be asked to submit all your documents if you haven't submitted them earlier, as soon as you'll submit your documents they will be verified by the authorities present there, after verification, you'll be asked to deposit your fee. Once all these steps are done you are good to go and you have now become an official student of Mohanlal Sukhadia University or as we say it "MLSU".

Most of the faculties who will be teaching you are guest faculties, but they are very smart, interactive, helpful and will be willing to go an extra mile when it comes to teaching interested students. All the teachers are well versed with not only their own subject but with other subjects as well, I would also recommend you not to hesitate when it comes asking your doubts or as we say in programming "query".
