NIT JALANDHAR

The college life is little bit monotonous. As college is very far from main city around 18km so going to city is also a big issue. In Jalandhar there are not much places where you can go for enjoyment.

The course curriculum of this branch i.e. structural and construction management is quite good. The list of the subject which will be taught in this 2 year program are listed below 1 semester: Finite element method, advanced structural analysis, advance foundation engineering, structural dynamics and construction methods and equipment(elective) And 2 labs also 2 semester: Advanced Reinforced concrete design, advance strength of materials, Quantity methods in construction management, earthquake resistant design structure, soil dynamics and machine foundation. And 2 labs also SEM 3: 2 elective subject SEM 4 : project

No. College don't provide any type of internship to mtech students. If you are willing to do so then you toh search it by your own and if you will join the internship then you will not get the stipend.

Placement of my branch is quite good. Recently Tata project visited to our campus and 3 students cleared the written exam the interview is still pending the package was 6.6lpa before that l&t visited the campus with 6.6lpa and Meerut institute of technology for assistant professor. And many more company are going to visit in April month.

There are many events that are celebrated in college. Some of them are technical fest TECHNITI and some of them are cultural fest UTKANSH. And some sport activities are also there which will keep you fit.

The fee structure for the Mtech is quite high comparitive to IIT and most of the NIT. You have to pay 45900 academic fee 24500 as hostel and mess fee. The mess fee can vary person to person by his diet.

As I am general candidate and a mtech student so I do not get any academic scholarship even category student do not get any scholarship from college side because we get a stipend from MHRD i.e. 12400.

The college life is not so good it goes a little bit monotonous. Lab of our department is really good specially concrete Technology lab there are too many apparatus in the concrete lab and I can say that concrete lab is comparable to IIT ROORKEE lab.

The hostel infrastructure is really good and and the facilities are also quite good. In hostel you will get a bed, two almirah and tube light and LAN/wifi. In mtech first you you will get a double seater room and in second year you will get a single seater room.The cost is same for both single and double seater room

The alumni network of this college is really remarkable. The alumni who are really on some high post in companies come for recruitment process in college and offer handsome salary to the student. Senior are really helpful and friendly the will help you out in providing notes, previous year paper and in many other ways also.

Exam structure is little bit hectic. In a semester you have to give 3 exams minor 1, minor 2 and major. Both minor comprises of 20 marks each and major comprises of 50 marks and rest 10 marks is of assignment and attendance.

I got the admission in this college after clearing the GATE examination and after that their is a centralised online counseling known as CCMT. In this put your choice according to your priority and according to your gate score you will get the college.

The faculty of this particular branch is quite good.They take classes regularly and completes the course within the prescribed time. The paper which comes in exam is made by the same faculty and they ask more or less same question what they teach in the class.
