Remarks
The overall curriculum of the college is good. DBS always complies with rules and code of conduct and that's the reason why everyone here sticks to the disciplinary code of conduct, be it dress code or the conduct of students in class or anywhere in campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course i.e. PGDM is good. It is an autonomous course approved by AICTE. And IIMs also conduct the same course. It provides you greater industrial exposure in comparison to other management courses.
Internships Opportunities
Yes the college provides internship to each and every student. Every student goes through the internship placement drive. Companies from all over the country are part of this placement drive. Which provides PAN India opportunities to the students and handsome stipend.
Placement Experience
As already mentioned above, placement drive is conducted and companies from all over the country and even foreign subsidiaries participate in these drives. Students sit for the selection process as per the company criterias and get selected.
College Events
Every festival is celebrated with all zeal. There is annual manfest, utsav, sports day and many more events. There are other events like celebrity night, prom night, Halloween, Dandiya, Ramleela, Beauty pageant, modelling etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible in comparison to other colleges offering PGDM. Divided into 6 Semesters.There are also several scholarships being offered by the college and fee concessions to the girls and domiciles. It is one of the reasons why many students choose Doon Business School for PGDM.
Fees and Financial Aid
As I told girls are given 10% discount in fee. Also any domicile of Uttarakhand is also given a discount of 10% Students scoring above 95% in MAT would get a scholarship discount in the fee. Which would be applicable in every semester if the student is able to score above 60%.
Campus Life
For every co curricular activity there is a club. Like sports club, drama club, music club, dance club, rotract club, tours and travel club. These clubs keep on organising events in the college. And the organizers include students who are part of these clubs.
Hostel Facilities
I don't stay in the hostel but it appears to be good. From the coming year hostel would be compulsory for PGDM students who would take admission in Doon Business School. The hostel is available for both boys and girls and has wifi connectivity.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni visit the campus regularly and their contests are great help to the college placement opportunities. As they have their contacts with the industry people. Alumni meet is organised to make them interact with their juniors.
Exam Structure
The 2 year PGDM course is divided into 6 Semester. That means 3 semester each year. There is end term exam for external assessment and mid term exam for internal assessment also the co curricular activities and class performance are part of internal assessment. All these together formulate the semester scorecard of the student.
Admission
I opted for PGDM. For this course you need to qualify any management entrance exam like CAT/MAT/XAT etc. Later go to college website and fill the information form. You will receive a call regarding the further procedure which basically includes your GD/PI and later documentation process.
Faculty
Faculty is excellent. They always try to groom their students in every manner. They try hard to organise interaction programmes between the students and the industry. They promote learning by doing. Moreover they are caring, friendly and very supportive.
