Course Curriculum Overview
BA psychology included course contents like research, psychopathology, counseling and social psychology, etc that helps one understand the basics and the professional parts of it. The level of difficulty is not much, one is able to understand and study on time for the exams.
Placement Experience
From 3 rd year starting students are trained for placements and placement drives start occuring in the college campus. Companies like Deloitte, Accenture, etc do visit the campus with their details. Students are instructed nicely and are placed as well in many companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
First year fees was 11000 and then it increased in accordance to specialisation in BA stream- English, Sociology or Psychology. As I took up Psychology it was 24000 for next two years. Scholarships are available to students according to family income and minority community which they belong to.
Campus Life
Technological, Rap it up, Sports days, Socials etc occur from season to season and students evejoy every bit of it. Students from outside the college also come in to enjoy. The classes are equipped with senses projectors and screens as well as simple blackboards for a natural learning experience.
Admission
Admission process is simple enough for BA psychology as it's merit based and an interview occurs when choosing one's specialisation. We need to register on the portal of St. Mira's and filling the form and submitting it offline after printing it with fees once you're selected.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is satisfying overall. The teachers are highly skilled and qualified. They are nicely approachable and especially in BA stream the teachers are students personal favourite. They are empathetic to problems that students face and understand quickly. 6 semesters in 3 year BA course and the content of course is completely relevant to the curriculum and future aspects as well.
Interview Experience
Yes, interview was taken up when choosing the specialisation. The questions asked were basically about why did I choose this subject, what interests me more in psychology, what do I plan to do after this degree and some detailed questions regarding psychology and it's basics were also asked.
Night Life
The college is located at Koregaon park in Pune which is a posh area in itself. Many cafes, restaurants and resting places are right beside it. German bakery, Irani cafe, Grandma's cafe are some famous names. The locality is also safe one around the night. The hostel is located at Sadhu Vaswani's Mission in the area of Camp, Pune which is also near the college itself.
