My college journey

There is nothing negative that Bede's can ever ever have , if you remain in discipline and obey all the rules. Time at bede's flies. And they make sure they make a self dependent lady of every girl who enters the magnificent gates of the pristine institute.

The course curriculum is very fine. The college is accrediated to the Himachal Pradesh University. The syllabus is set by the university itself and the college follows the same. The college holds Star Status for Life Sciences , heritage status , NAAC A+ accrediated and also holds potential for excellence.

College provides internship for certain courses , especially for all the courses of arts and professional courses like BBA are well catered to. They have quite a number of options for internships. Rest of tje courses such as the science courses are provided with training. But faculty is always ready to help.

As mentioned above placement options are more for students of the professional courses like BBA. But B.A students also get quite a number of chances. Many companies and NGOs visit to take up students. Recently Vistara Airlines came to take up students.

St. Bede's is quite a happening place when it come s to the events. There are a number of clubs and committees. Something or the other is always happening all round the year. Be it n number of seminars, mock drills, awareness workshops, NSS camps, blood donation camps , and also the regular festival celebration.

The fee structure is quite affordable as it is a semi government convent college. B.A and BSc courses are quite feasible. Professional courses like BBA , biotech and microbio are bit on a higher side, but are still quite affordable compared to the others.

There are a number of scholarships offered to the deserving students. There are scholarships which are sponsored by certain senior teachers of the institution. The scholarships are given only after monitoring the performance in 1st semester.

There are a number of extra curricular activities in there and almost all the students are involved in it. There are a number of clubs and committees offering a number of opportunities to the students. They even have a well organised and disciplined student body.

Hostel is quite like how hostels in hills should be. There are two blocks , the thevenet block and the marian block. Each floor has a different warden. The hostel rules are quite strict ,but eventually it becomes home :).

Oh! Well, each and every bedeian is instilled with the feeling of belongingness to the institute and hence obviously are very helpful. Ragging is a punishable offence there. Seniors have always been very helpful and caring there. And the alumini speak for themselves.

The exam structure is quite simple. They follow choice based credit system under UGC. There are modterm exams and the final exams. The marking scheme varies upon the subject as each subject has different number of credits. Internal marking is based on the tests , assignments , presentations.

Admission is based on first come first served basis. The student is expected to have a decent percentage to get into the desored course. Same goes for the hostel accomodation. To get into the hostel the student needs to undergo an intetview with the college Principal.

The faculty of the college is extremely helpful. Each one of them os well veraed with the subjecta they teach. Almost all the teachers there hold a doctraye degreea, i.e. a PHd. Besides, all of them are quite easily approachable.
