BESC college review

The course is enrolled under Calcutta University. So the college doesn't have anything to do with it. I chose this college because of the faculty and amenities they're offering compared to other colleges. But with a degree in economics you can get into finance, data analysis, business management or anything else you like!

The aggregate % of Best of 5 (Five) subjects in Class XII Board result should be 90% and above (applicable for all Boards). 2. Fees must be paid by Online mode through the College’s Payment gateway (Refer to the Process to be followed after the Merit list document which has been published along with the Merit List Notice on the College website under the Notice Board/ Admission section and also available in your Applicant Login). 3. The student must appear for Calcutta University End-Semester Examination for Semester I and Semester II in the academic year 2024-25 as a student of this College. 4. The scholarship shall be awarded ONLY to the First 200 students satisfying ALL the criteria as given above (Criteria 1-3). The date & time of the online fee payment shall be the basis of the selection of the First 200 Students fulfilling criteria 1-3 given above. 5. Fee paid after Tuesday, 25th June 2024 SHALL NOT QUALIFY for this scheme. It is not possible to extend this date under any circumstances. Please don't make any requests for the same

We have a large number of collectives for diverse cultural aspects including NCC and NSS. So whether you're a book worm or a musician or a dancer or a fashionista BESC has a place for everyone! (We hold eastern India's biggest fest Umang every year)

The admission process is very simple. It's based on your class twelve marks. Also it's very easy getting into BESC because of the high acceptance rate. I got into St Xavier's and didn't try getting into any other colleges. But i chose BESC over Xavier's because our college doesn't have a strict attendance policy you can study at home and never come to college and still get your degree.

There are internal examinations per semester apart from the Calcutta University exams. The exams are fairly difficult, also college has a reputation for giving very low marks in tutorials and projects unless you're extraordinarily good. Although everyone passes more or less. The professors are all very well informed about the syllabus and curriculum.

There are no hostel facilities but there are PGs available nearby. There is a sports arena which has each and every kind of indoor game you can imagine and a cafeteria that serves a variety of veg food. We also have a turf for outdoor sports like badminton, basketball etc. The library is cozy and comfortable for self study but the collection isn't very diverse.
