SIMPLY THE BEST!

JIIT is simply the best college with lot of opportunites waiting for us to avail. The facilities are provided at the doorstep. What we have to do is to think and correctly utilize them. If I have to mark something negative, I can only say that sometimes teachers do not think that we have so many projects/assignments to do simultaneously and they keep the deadline which is impossible to meet. But yes, I find this as a practice how to take up the pressure and work under that because eventually in the industrial sector we have to deal with it.

The course curriculum is very well designed. The focus is held on the latest technologies introducing in the market and the main goal of teachers is to make the students' research oriented. The labs and theory hours are very well divided and the focus is built on the theoretical concepts which can be applied to the projects in every subject. Hence, I am very much fascinated with the drafting of the course.

Yes, my college do provide internships and various training programs held from time to time. The college's training and placement cell recommend students to various companies for internships. Some of them also provide pre-placement offers to the bright students which boost their morale too. Thus, internships help students to get trained for the industries.

The placement percentage of our college goes beyond 96 with each passing year. Many MNCs such as Infosys, Accenture, HCL, etc come to the college to conduct placement activities from the month of July. Most of the students get placed in the 7th semester itself and start their training in 8th semester. Also, the college refer students to foreign universities where get good opportunities to get start off with their career.

There are tremendous number of events celebrated in my college. Many technical, creative, social, etc have been organizing here and students volunteer so enthusiastically in them. The college fest IMPRESSIONS used to be the best fest of NCR every year. In this not only cultural competitions are organized but technical such as coding, gaming, etc are also organized. In the month of Navratri here used to be an ETHNIC NIGHT in which students come up in their best traditional outfits and groove on some Bollywood as well as cultural music. There are more than 50 hubs for all kind of students interested in different fields. Here they can grow with their passion, meet the people with same interests. They can develop the skills they wanted in them. Some of them are JMUN- Jaypee Model of United Nations, Jhankaar- Dance hub of JIIT, Crescendo- The music hub, The Thespian Circle- acting club, Developers Club,etc. These hubs used to conduct a lot of events time to time.

As it is a private college, the fee structure is quite expensive. Around 2.5 lacs it costs per year which includes the tuition fees and hostel fees excluding our other expenses. But the quality of life it is returning is amazing. If you spend a lot and does not get that quality in return then it is not at all worth spending. Other than the fees, we do not have to pay anything for any event, seminar, workshop, etc.

Yes, the college offers some handsome scholarships to the students. They have been providing special scholarships to the single girl child and students whose family income is less than 2 lakhs per annum. Also the scholarship tests are conducted time to time in which students who clear it get a chance to avail loans and scholarships. The college also offers financial aid to the students who want to set up their startup. They have to get their idea approved from college authorities. They offer stipend of Rs 12,000/month to the M.Tech students who took admission through GATE score.

The college focus a lot on extracurricular activities too for the overall development of students. After 4 pm students can play any sport in the campus playground as well as several indoor games. The labs are conducted with full sincerity with lab tests and quizzes every month and fully equipped with latest tools and technologies. The systems remain up-to-date and a lab assistant is always present their to help us. Sports meet is also conducted each year in which a large number of competitions are organized. The college teams also participate in different inter-college and national level competitions.

The hostel infrastructure as well as facilities are excellent. There are 6 hostels in the entire campus containing around 500 rooms each. All the rooms are two seater with common washrooms. Each block in the hostel has 2 toilets and 2 bathrooms which means 16 people share 2 washrooms. The facilities of laundry, gym, swimming, other indoor and outdoor games are also provided to the hostelers without paying any extra money. Every day the maids in the hostel clean our rooms and washrooms also remain very clean and hygienic. The food in the mess is also quite healthy as well as tastes good with full of variety. Everyday we get a fruit and sweets from the mess.

Yes, the seniors are quite helpful. They share their experiences about how to move forward with plans and how to step forward carefully. The Alumini Meet is conducted each year in the college in which many aluminis come and share their thoughts with the students which proves quite beneficial. The aluminis in different companies also recommend the students of JIIT in their companies for job.

The exam structure is quite flexible. In a semester exams are conducted for three times in which two are minors and one is major. The system of relative marking is followed and the questions are application based. One hour is allotted in minors which are of 20 marks and two hours for majors with a weightage of 35 marks.

As mentioned in previous question, I enrolled in PGET,2018 which is an entrance exam for getting admission in M.TECH. There is no option for direct admission without giving exam. The candidates securing above 60% would get admission here. There were preferences of courses which were needed to be filled while registering. Thus, the qualified candidates will get the first preferred course. Only the students who cleared GATE exam an get direct entry without giving PGET exam.

The faculty of college is very much educated and experienced. Alone in the department of Computer Science and IT there are around 95+ teachers in which 50+ are Ph.D. scholars and the remaining are M.Tech with pursuing Ph.D. The professors are superb in their respective domains and explain each and every topic with full dedication. Not only this, they enthusiastically help students even outside the classrooms or labs with their projects, assignments, research works, etc. Thus, I find myself so lucky to be under the shield of superb guidance.
