Dislikes
- the schedule here is very busy ,as there are tests of each subject on every monday so it becomes a little bit hectic.
- Due to every monday internal tests of each subjects students cant get chance to learn other things than coursework.
- There is no placement cell in the institute.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is specific on the field of virology .The coursework is very good and helpful for future aspects like for PHD and for different exams like NET/JRF. The internal exam frequency is one test per week. the course curriculum have a lots of real world applications in the field of research and development,industrial sector etc.
Internships Opportunities
You can get the internships in NIV also as there are many projects works are going on always.there are differnt industries which provide interships to students of this institute like serum institute pvt ltd. Alos you can get internships in other ICMR institutes.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for maharashtra open,ews and obc students is 40000 per year for both the years of masters and for SC/ST students fees are 2500 per year of msc.For non maharashtra domicile students of any category th fees are 76000 per year. Maharahstra open category students can get mahadbt scholerships upto 20000 .
Campus Life
The campus is very clean,pretty and peaceful.The overall campus life is ok.The library is available in the campus ,students can get benefit of books from there. Every year the cultural events are organised in NIV on the occasion of its foundation day in the month of february. there are best labs of life sciences present in the campus.there is no that much scope for extra curricular activities and sports here.
Hostel Facilities
The hostes are best ,the single room is alloted between two students .The attached bathroom is there for each room.BEd,WiFi,study table ,water gyser are the facilities provided in the hostel. There is no food available in hostel you have to go with outside the campus for your dinner and only the lunch and morning breakfast is available in the college campus which is quite good. there is no need to register seperately for hostel ,once you get admission to the course you can get hostel. The fees for hostel also affordable around 3500 per semester which is very less and affordable as compared to outside PGs.
Admission
ICMR NIV is the apex institute among the other ICMR institutes.I chose this college because i can get the best education here and im getting it . i have applied to other colleges also like hyderabad university, savitribai phule pune university but i have taken admission here because the quality of education,research and exposure here. the admissons are taken based on the merit of the exam counducted by savitribai phule pune university(SPPU),the counduct pan india level etrance exam every year in the month of may or june and based onthe cutoff the selection process occurs.
Faculty
You can get chance to learn from the best here, there are many top scientists of India works here so you can get a chance to get a guidence of them.There are all the levels of scientists are avilable here like from scientist B to scientist G. There are total 88 credits for the course (22 for each semester). the internal exams of all the theory subjects are conducted on each monday of week. the exams are moderate level.The external exams are conducted at the end of the semester.
Night Life
The night life in the campus is not that good ,but there is good nightlife around the campus like there are lots of gyms and cafes are available to chill out .the hangout places include pashan tekdi,baner etc.The intime of hostel is 10 pm .
