Life at Tezpur College: Pros and Cons

This college has decent and qualified faculty for commerce and hence my decision for choosing this college as well as this course . This college prepares you with real life knowledge about the commercial sector and assists with future academic courses. The teaching methods can be better for ensuring better teacher student interaction. Each semester is of 4 months in total and exams are held every 4-6 months . Exams are sometimes okay and sometimes difficult.

The total fee structure per year is ?10,000 approximately. It's very affordable. There are various privileges provided for students of different castes such as Sc, st and OBC . No such beneficial scholarships are provided.

There is a library for passing time . A ground for students is also available for playing sports . Other than these , various extra curricular activities are also conducted such as competitions like sports , debate , quiz , etc and festivals are also celebrated like saraswati puja, etc.

I only applied to this college and was accepted at the first time . The admission process is very easy and supported by the College authorities. The admission is totally based upon merit . And a merit list is produced for the selected students eligible for the concerned course .

The faculty to student ratio is 1: 30 . The faculty is approachable and friendly but sometimes can be rude. Personally I liked the accounts department best . It may be because of my interest in accounts. The teachers are really supportive. Per semester there are two exams held . One final exam at the end of the semester and one at the middle of the semester known as mid term exams.

A cafeteria and library are available for students for chilling and time pass. Around the college there are many cafes and restaurants where cheap eatables are available for consumer.Hostel facilities are not available. The locality is safe for boys but no idea for girls to roam around at night.
