Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum that the department of economics provides was very vast and has many aspects in it. It structures a student from top to bottom . It is structured in accordance with the development happening in the world.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid a total year fees of 35000 for aided and the fees for the self-financed stream may vary from 60k - 90k . There is no fee for the sports quota people including hall(hostel). The hall fee is 46k only for rooms.
Campus Life
The name of the annual festival is 'Deepwoods' . It is held in January or February of every year. There are no hi-tech facilities in the classroom because the college building is very old. The college give more importance to the sports students . There are many student run social groups in the college.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is very nice in the college. The hostels are called halls here. They follow certain tradition for each of its 6 halls. Each hall has its own history. Every halls are solely run by the students themselves under a student cabinet. Boys are provided with single room (except for sports persons). Girls are provided with 3 sharing rooms . The quality and taste of the food is average .
Admission
I applied for American college in madurai and I got a seat there but I prefer this college because of its legacy and its history of making more civil servants . The admission in the college is given by the mark you scored in your 12 th public examinations
Faculty
The students to faculty ratio varies from class to class in an average it is around 60:1. There are 3 Internal assessment test in which two are written and one is assigned by the faculty in any forms such as seminar, projects,etc
Night Life
The college is located directly opposite to Tambaram railway station. The hangout spots in the evening are Burgerman, Nayagara juice spot, teaboy ,Deeds cafe . The hostel out time for boys is 5AM to 10.30 PM and for girls its around 7 PM daily
