Negative - Few teachers are very very narrow minded and lack practical expertise. Neither any internships provided nor assistance for the same. Positive - located at a good place in the city, good hostel. Interesting fests and events held,
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is as per VISVESVARAYA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY. There aren't any additional subjects by the college. It is a vast curriculum to be honest but a robust as well. If one is dedicated and studies well in the initial years, he/she will have a solid foundation for any tech job.
Internships Opportunities
Unfortunately in for batch they hadn't provided even one internship. I'm being honest but they did not even provide guidance for internship. We had hunt each and everything by ourselves. Not sure about the current scenario.
Placement Experience
Placements weren't that great the highest package some one bagged on campus was 6lpa. But the placement committee gives it their best to get companies. The profiles aren't upto mark. They do have profiles for RnD, system engineer etc, but they also had bogus companies that came in and have looted money from Students as well.
College Events
There are many interesting events actually organised in every department. The most interesting if from the mechanical department, they had remote controlled buggie racing, paintball shooting, auto expos. Vidyuth - the college fest - is something to look out for. This fest one of the best in Mysore and all the colleges in Mysore and few from outside Mysore as well participate in various events held at the fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I must it is a feasible fee structure compared to other colleges. It also depends on the specialisation that you want to opt for. For example this college is known for environmental engineering so the fee is a little on the higher side for that specialisation.
Fees and Financial Aid
Canara bank should be a good option for loan. Most nationalised banks can be approached for loan facility. It's not offered by college but the banks don't interrogate much regarding this college. I'm not sure any scholarship facility as I haven't availed any.
Campus Life
We were consistently performing well in football not sure about the current situation. I've heard they have won VTU cup for hockey. Which ever sport your interested you must coax the PD else they won't even smell you. Good importance is given for extra curricular activities like the e-cell, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is the best in Mysore. I can tell you that with full confidence. Just that there are no basketball court, etc however it's right next to the hostel, about 1 min walk. They have 2 and 3 Sharing facility. The rooms have verified tiles and are very spacious. Maid clean the rooms everyday. Also the mess food is very average. Don't expect it to be amazing.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni is network. Better to keep in touch via LinkedIn as that's the best way to get top notch help regarding internships, jobs, guest lectures, etc. They have alumni meet every year for each department.
Exam Structure
This is again as per VTU norms. It varies as per the university norms as the college is not yet an autonomous college. Just make sure that you don't have more than 4 subjects as backlog per semester else you will loose a year.
Admission
I got the seat here through management quota even I though I later realised that I would've got the seat through comedk exam. The results and counselling dates for comedk was comparatively late hence wanted to block the seat. We had to report to the college at the designated time, appear for a quick interview by the trustees, and carry out the process regarding the financials and you would be further notified via call/post/email.
Faculty
There are few teachers who are just great but also few terrible. Some of them have ego problems, show partiality towards their favourite students. Some are very judgemental based on your looks, the way you dress, etc and simply humiliate front of your peers because of your appearance. Many lack the practical application of the information that they teach. Even if they lack they must atleast let students know where it can be applied in real life.
