College - step towards real life

The college in a whole is a complete package for a great career start. Few low points are that they don't provide internships and practical training. Otherwise it's the most disciplined college with compulsory minimum attendance of 75% and decent college dress code.

The course curriculum here provides proper and substantial knowledge regarding the subjects. It includes all the fields one should know while persuing such career. Ranging from computer course to accounting and from environmental studies to management it teaches you all the spheres of the course.

No. But one has to complete internship from external sources. A six month internship letter is mandatory to fulfil the graduation criteria. Few foreign exchange programs are there but nothing as such for internships. One aspect that this college lacks is this criteria. The college must provide internship facilities and make it mandatory.

The placements of this college is commendable. This college comprise of a placement cell which is responsible of the placements. Companies like Pwc, Delloite, Swiss Banks , Axis Bank etc. come for placements. The package ranges from 4 lac's p.a. to 20 lacs p.a.

The college has the biggest fest of Kolkata - Xavotsav. Moreover being a Christian college, Christmas is the most celebrated festival. The college itself has a church. Along with it, there are many events organised by different committee ranging from hindi literature society to Xaviers commerce society. Xaviers cricket league is even organised including students, teachers and staffs. Independence day witnesses parade and races.

The fees structure of this college is decent in this era. It's approximately 60k per annum. It's feasible for middle class and upper class families. There are scholarships even provided by college and even the fees are reduced for financially not so sound students.

As such there are education loans that a student can avail for his or her studies. Scholarships are provided for academically top scholars. Moreover fees are even reduced for financially weak students.

The college is equipped with proper labs for commerce and science students. There are basketball and football fields. A canteen is even there. Moreover church, auditoriums , library and rest rooms are available.

The infrastructure of the college is decent. Being a heritage college, the infrastructure is not modern. Having those high ceilings and old benches it is in true meaning a heritage school. Besides that, all practical rooms for commerce and science students are there along with well equipped library and cyber room. A canteen is even set but that's not great but decent. Playgrounds and auditoriums are also available.

The alumni sections are decent. They organise an event every year calling famous celebs to perform. They are approachable and provide help to students. As such there is no structured platform for connecting to alumni.

The college has semester exams. In one year there are two semester exams with Continous internal assessment exams twice before the semesters. The students have to submit projects on each subject. There are marks allotted to attendance too. Proper and complete help is provided by teachers for exams.

Initially after the class 12 results are out, we have to fill the admission form declaring the secured marks. Layer on the merit list is released. After being shortlisted, an interview is held. After clearing the same, the admission process gets ended.

The faculty of the college are expertise in their respective fields. They have complete knowledge of the subjects. Along with it they provide consultancy regarding career and helps to provide direction to our interests. Proper education and practical training are provided by them.
