Remarks
The college should allow all stream students to sit for all companies in the final year placement. The hostel staff needs improvement in terms of their behavior towards students. There could be an improvement in the teaching quality as well.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of JIIT is extremely structured in nature.In the first year, the students are taught a variety of courses of all the streams whereas in the final year the students can chose elective courses according to their interests.
Internships Opportunities
It is mandatory for students to do an internship in the break of 6th semester. The college offers internships to computer science students (other streams not eligible) in 7th and 8th semester with stipend varying from 5k-40k.
Placement Experience
The placement opportunities are great for computer science students as over 200+ companies visit the campus for internships and jobs in the 7th and 8th semester. However, other stream students are allowed to sit in a handful of companies including mass recruiters
College Events
The major event that takes place is the college annual festival-Impressions. The fest takes place over a duration of 2 days and is extremely entertaining with famous bands coming in the college. The other events that take place are organised by various college hubs like robotics, radiance,etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Compared to other private colleges, the fee structure is feasible for students and the tuition fees remains stable throughout the duration of college. However for students opting for hostel, the college authorities increase hostel fees for each semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college doesn't offer scholarships on the basis of performance. However, students can take up loans to pay the college fee for each semester. I did not avail the loan facility for payment of my college fee.
Campus Life
The extracurricular activities are organised by various student hubs. There are competitions like Talent hunt for first year freshers, fashion events conducted by the radiance society and various robotics competitions by robotics society. There are many academic labs(electronics, computer,etc) in the academic block which are part of the course credits for students
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure and facilities include hostel room(double sharing) for both boys and girls, mess and laundary.Boys hostel is better in infrastructure as it is newly built. The hostel wardens are very rude and treat students very badly.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students are very helpful. They guide the freshers through the curriculum,extracurricular activities and placements. Most of the college alumini are well placed or go for further studies in India or abroad.
Exam Structure
The exams take place thrice per semester. The exams are very structured with T1,T2 of duration 1 hour and T3 of 2 hours duration. The difficulty level of exams is average to difficult.The students are supposed to give supplementary exams or attend summer semester if they fail in T1,T2 and T3.
Admission
Admission to JIIT takes place through JEE mains examination. After giving the exam, the student needs to send their college application and attend the counselling process after which the seats are allocated on the basis of JEE rank and student preference.
Faculty
The faculty of the college extremely varies on the basis of quality. While some teachers are motivated to teach and help students to develop interests in their subjects, some teachers navigate through the pre-created slides every year.
