Remarks

Good environment. Can openly talk to teachers. Library facility is available. Canteen food is not great so carry food from home. Students and faculty do get along well. Negative is there is no good placement.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

M.Sc psychology is basically an in-depth study. You have positive psychology, Indian psychology, child psychopathology, psychopathology. There are various practicals and to produce a research paper is also the part if curriculum. Make sure you do intern during the given gaps, as it adds on the practical experience and is recommended for the completion of degree certificate.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are compulsory. Its from your end you’ll have to look for internship. Teacher can guide you and May suggest some place but DONOT expect them to do everything for you. Find place where you have to internship, take given holidays to do internship. It does make a change.

Placement Experience

0.5

Placement in bad. Probably 1-2 company do come for the placement but not all are selected. Placement is hard. Job oppurtunity for students with M.Sc counselling and MLCU department is good, as they have practicumm so they are experienced. Jobs for clinical psychology/ OB is not available unless you have bigger hold to such. Make sure you make contacts in the company so as they can slide in your resume!

College Events

4.5

Since the college is not big, do not expect it to be grand. Its like a small formal family, celebrating certain days. They mostly focus on mental awareness stuff. Children’s day( kids from outside) probably orphanage are invited and we make it kind of grand for them. P.S money for the same you’ll have to put. You have mismatch day, yoga day, diwali and others possible.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Best advise is to apply through BU as it is cheap(?10000-?20000). Direct apply would cost you double around (?20000-?30000) where as NRIs has to pay the quadruple of it for per sem. You can pay online, in cash to the office. Rest contact the college office for more details

Fees and Financial Aid

Single child scholarship is available but only for one sem. Same is with for those who belong to SC/ST/ OBC. But only gor one sem. Best option is to apply through BU. If money is the problem. No other scholarship is available. But make sure you enquire it from the office.

Campus Life

5

You have one month dedicated for sports day, which would happen after classes. The entire college is divided into 4 groups and are participated. Its fun. You have 2 psychology labs, 1 computer lab, and 1 library available. Rest check the website.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel in good. You have 2 sharing or single sharing, so its peace. Food is OK. You get veg and non-veg. Wi-Fi is available. No washing machine. Single sharing is ?10000 per month double will be ?8000. (Might vary). Curfew is 9pm.

Alumni/Alumna

They might be of some help if you know them and will help you gets notes and record stuff. They can only help you through college stuff. Since they are too not sure about the job. Placement through college is hard as I said.

Exam Structure

Exams are pretty easy, straight theory questions are only asked. 14 marker are each question and overall paper score is 70. Practising previous 2,3 years question paper will fetch you good marks. Your practicals are done in college. Easy to fetch good marks for practicals. Prepare for VIVA. Just text book doesn’t work. Have more knowledge about the same. Maintain 75% attendance to write the exam.

Admission

2 recommendation letter, UG marks card, enters me exam hint and interview. Make sure you have prepared well for the enterance exam, mostly critical thinking questions and the role of counsellor In every aspects is important. If applying through BU, then the college fee is less and its first come first preference based for seat allotment. I suggest follow the BU path as it is better and saves double the money. Teachers and Staffs are good. Rather than theory question they prefer more or application of all theories in real life.

Faculty

4

I would rate them 8/10. Some teachers are best shot, make sure that you do give feedback to the teacher you find not great or to your mentor and make sure they do something about it. Late complaints are not going to make any difference. Voice out as a class does make a difference.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
