College life - at VGEC

Most of the course curriculum of Ec engineering department is outdated (since we have learnt about the microprocessor designed in 1978) but still the foundation has to be strong for gaining furthur knowledge in technical subjects or to understand advanced concept based devices .I find difficulty in analog subject because of all those graphs ,waves , sinusoidal formulas etc.Our college have even introduced many in-demand subjects like web technology , artificial intelligence , semiconductor packaging etc but theese optional courses vary according to your department. These are EC department subject which we have been offered.

College placement is also good in this college . Highest package for EC department 13.67 LPA and average package is 4.80 LPA .Many companies like TCS, Adani Enterprise ,Enfochips etc. After 6th sem students become eligible for Placement and are guided by training and placement cell of our college.

I pay Rs 850 as semester fees every semester and in odd semester we have to pay PRC fees which is 300 .Within the semester fees ,Rs 100 is government fees and Rs 750 is non government fees. Fess is very minimal as it is government funded college and thus accessible for many of the students who are bright minded but face monetary constraints.

Our college have NCC,NSS,drama club , English literature club, advaNature club,Rocketry Club etc . But we don't have any cultural fests (atleast not during my college days) but we have 3-day Sports event where many sports activities are organised .Many workshops are conducted by various departments and different active cell of our college to aware and equipped students with various technologies and in-demand skills

I find this college very affordable and it is very close to my house (approx.15 mins) and since it is government college close to my house and I was getting EC department which is actually famous for this college ,so I without any second thought ,joined this college and I am happy with my decision .

Most of the Faculties are passionate about their subjects and even hold reputed degrees in their respective field of teaching .They are very engaging and supportive .They actively guide interested students who are eager to do something beyond their academics. 25 -30students per teacher is our faculty to student ratio which is very decent .We have 2 semester exams in a year and Each semester have a mid sem and end sem exams. Internal marks are given by that particular subject faculty based on projects(if given) , attendance , behaviour etc .

Our college lies in between the city of Ahmedabad surrounded by many hang out places ,garden ,gym and many aesthetic cafeterias and pizza shops .We have BRTS stopage right in front of our gate which furthur help students to reach college easily who live at far away from college.There is PVR cinemas at a walking of 5 mins from our college ,then Dmart,osiamart and many more places one could think of.There are so many fast food shops near our college that offers different types of street food at reasonable price .Hostel timings are different for girls and boys .In case of girls it is quite strict as they have to report before 8:00pm evening and have to fill entry exit form in case you are goung to stay outside someday ...or you are visiting your parents .I am not much aware about boys hostel rules. Students are not allowed to roam in college premises at night .
