Remarks
The teachers, job opportunities, exposure to the ongoing research and technology being vast, discipline, exam structure are the positive points. The college charges a lot of money as compared to other colleges, the dean is irrational.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is chosen wisely, but most of the portion as of now(1st year) is outdated. But our teachers do make sure we get to know about the latest research projects going on by discussing them in the classroom.
Internships Opportunities
In the 3rd year, a group of students get the opportunity to do a project which is funded by our college and the research paper is given for publication in government institute. During the 1st and 2nd year, teachers help us to get recruited for internship in government institution.
Placement Experience
It has one of the biggest job fair in India. All big companies are associated with the college like Biotecnika, KPMG, Pepsi, Abbott, Amway etc. The placement and job opportunities are pretty decent.
College Events
College fest Anveshana Traditional day Women's day Teacher's day Pongal Farewell to the seniors These events are celebrated in the best way we can. They aren't that great and most of the students don't participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's expensive. 1 lakh per year (3 lakh for the whole course). Other colleges take around 60k. The examination fee is around 1,500. Which makes 9,000 for the whole course. This college is all about money with providing facilities.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship facility is provided by the college on papers. Haven't heard of anyone getting it. They are more about taking money. Loan facility is available. They have a tie up with a bank executive which would help.
Campus Life
In general, Jain college has given us many Indian Cricketers like K.L.Rahul, Manish Pandey. In our campus, extra curricular activities are encouraged and awarded. They do have dance team, music team, many clubs like literature club, eco club, catalysta (chemistry club), genetics club etc.
Hostel Facilities
8 out of 10. Bus facility is provided for transport from hostel to college and vice versa. Lunch is provided in the college for hostel students. 24×7 water, electricity, security is provided along with security cameras installed in the hostels. Food is good. They charge 2,00,000 per annum
Alumni/Alumna
Our seniors are very helpful and guide us with the way to manage the pressure of studies. They guide us to the opportunities and encourage to grab them. However, had a bad experience with the super seniors.
Exam Structure
We have 6 semesters which ends with a final exam. The duration of each semester is approximately 5 months with one internal exam (where half of the portion is covered) and preparatory examination before finals (which had the whole portion).
Admission
I applied for it online by filling the online admission form. As I don't stay in Karnataka, an on-call interview was taken. As I was a month and a half late, I was given the admission only on the basis of my 12th PCB marks without the entrance exam of our college.
Faculty
The faculty is the major reason which drew me to this college. The environment is school like. Teachers work very hard and explain the concepts in depth and clearly. They take remedial classes which help us to understand concepts better which we didn't earlier and helps for revising. Majority of the faculty is good except very few.
