FACTS ABOUT SNU CHENNAI

The method of assessment is very good as per a students perspective too because it helps us to learn and gain knowledge about many new things in our domain. We can explore other domains too . Since all the theories are applied too during the lab session it is really easy for us to deal with real World applications. The frequency of exams is perfect not excessive too and it is structured in a manner that will make the students to study and be updated

Many companies have come to provide internship like BNY ,PAYPAL . BNY had provided a stipend of 75k . Due to the excellent curriculum we will have to do a project each semester which helps us a lot in respect to increase our knowledge and it adds ok to our resume

We have placement in our college and it starts with internship offers from third year . The highest package was 88Lpa and avg is 6Lpa. Most of the students have been placed , since the ones who got an internship offer are mostly given PPOs too.

The fee structure for a third year btech student is 2.25 lakh per year. This amount has not increased for me in the past two years. Before our end semester exams we are supposed to pay examination fees which is usually 4200 rupees for engineering students. My seniors(engineering) also have the same feeling structure, but for the juniors they have increased the fees and it is 3 L per year. We also have Bsc and law students who have different fee structures because of their course structure. But it is worth paying the amount. Hostel fee structure also varies from the room you choice the least is 96000 per year and the maximum is 2.25L per year excluding the caution diposit . There are scholarships available too and it is based on merit . According to your scores every sem bybteh end of the year they will provide you with a scholarship.

We have many events that takes place throughout the year including our tech and cultural fest . All the clubs in the University are active and they organise different events too. Sports facilities are top notch . We have facilities for all the sports including a cricket stadium and indoor badminton and basketball courts. We have all the books needed in our library and are really helpful.

Hostel facility is good as they give you a variety of options to choose from according to your needs . The hostel has a mess system which provides meals for students and the quality of food is good . Even if any kind of issue is faced by anyone , a complain is raised and the issue is solved immediately. Registration for hostel comes in during the admission process itself In our locality there are many apartments which students rent and the price varies from your needs

I had applied to symbiosis , NMIMS Christ University and many others. The reason I decided to come to SNU CHENNAI was so that I could have better placements and the education would be good. In comparison to other colleges the crowd here is less . For my batch we have 300 people in engineering since the intake is less it is easy to grab opportunity when we get . Admission process includes an assessment round based on physics chemistry and maths ,once you clear it you will be called for the interview and depending on your performance you will be receiving your letter.

The faculties here are very supportive and understanding. The faculty student ratio is really good as you can approach any faculty without any hindrance. All the facilities will help with anything required. Faculties from other departments can also be approached easily. There is no issues with contacting any of the professors. There are two semesters each year. Each semester has two continuous assessment examination along with mid semester examination and end semester examination. There is sufficient time given between all these examination. Once the semester starts there is a continuous assessment followed by mid semester then continuous assessment and end semester

We have cafeteria open till 9 pm and and public areas too excluding gym . The locality is very safe for women and there are guards at each place to ensure that safety . Mostly students go back to their hostels and enjoy themselves in their rooms . Some like to hit the gym or they play their favourite sport .
