A place for Research in Economics

The college is very good institute but the faculty is not very willing about the interest of the students regarding placements. The professors are very research oriented which is not a bad thing but it does affect the subject they are teaching. They are very knowledgeable in their own field. The course structure is very good. The campus is fine and there is hostel for all students so accommodation is not problem.

The course curriculum is very elaborated and is defined according to the specialisation. The course covers its respective aspect of Economics. There are options also available to gain Knowledge and information about the other courses and the some of the subjects are also offered to the other specialisations.

No, college does not provide an internship. There are no formal internships available in the college. Though a student can take up any research project with a particular professor if they want any research assistant in any of their projects. There is no stipend but the guidance provided by the professors is very good.

The placements in the institute have started since 2012 and is not developed that well. The faculty is not very willing in providing any placements information as well. The faculty and staff is very enthusiastic for research field in the college rather than corporate placements. But yes there are some placements with an average of 6-7 lacs. But it is much more concentrated on Financial and International Economics.

There are a lot of events that happen in the college. The student body celebrate every festival ceremoniously in the hostel mess. Other than that there is an Alumni event, A Cultural Event and a farewell.

The fee structure is very expensive compared to any other government college but is less than private colleges. The fee structure is also different for each course as well. It includes tuition fee, any specific course fee, and also includes mess and hotel fee which is only to be paid if opted to live in the hostel campus.

There are scholarship available for academically meritorious students in the second year. There is no loan facility available of any sorts. The scholarship is given based on the semester one and semester two marks together.

There extra curricular activities available in the campus. There is a computer lab and library available which is very good. The sports facilities are present in the hostel campus and it is not in a very good condition. The equipment is usually old though is does gets replaced. There are not a lot of sports just badminton. Table Tennis and volleyball.

Hostel facilities are very bad for both boys and girls. The buildings are every old though there is a new building for girls. The mess facilities are just fine. There is guest house and staff quarters and hostel is in the same campus.

The senior students are very helpful toward juniors batches. You can easily contact any of the senior and they are very willing to help. About the Alumni network, there is an Alumni Committee in the college which connects Alumni to the current batch and also brings in internship and placement opportunities.

The exam structure include two internals and one Final semester paper. The internals are taken best of three and constitute 20 marks each from the total of 100. The 60 marks semester end paper is held.

The admission takes place through an all India examination. The candidates are required to place their preferred course in a particular order. This order plays an important role in the selection. The rank obtain in the examination and the order together are taken under consideration for the selection in anyone of four courses.

The faculty is the only drawback of any of course. The faculty is not very interested in imparting knowledge though some of the professors are exceptionally well. There are only handful of good professors.
