Experience at SASTRA

The course that I have chosen is CSE. I chose this course because I got information from family and friends that CSE course is good here and I can join without snecond thought.The course allows to enhance and improve my knowledge and skills.The timing of exams will be around 1 month for monthly tests and lab exams and final exams are conducted at the end of the semester.The knowledge I have gained from this course would help me in solving a lot of problems and applications in real life.

The placements in sastra are really good and almost 80% of students get placed every year.From 3rd year the students can try for placements.Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Accenture, Zoho, TCS and other companies visit sastra for placements. The highest package last year is 40lpa. The average placement is 7.6 lpa.I am having plans to do my higher studies in abroad after getting my btech degree.

The tution fees per year would be around 1.7 lakhs and as I opted for hostel,the hostel fees would be around 32k. There will be registration fees,verification fees,admission fees,unit test fee and others which would be around 500 to 1k.There will be scholarship for students whose yearly income is less than 2l.There will be some 5% increase in fees.

There are a number of fests and events that are conducted in sastra.The events and fests are organized and handled by the students. There are a lot of clubs here and students can join in any clubs as per their interest. There is a cultural club called Kuruksastra who organize and control the cultural events and other fests.The technical club Daksh and ecell conduct technical events. The library provides a peaceful atmosphere and has a lot books.Each and evry books are accessible to students.Every classroom in sastra has been provided with projector and screen for making the understanding of students better on the subject. There are also sports events like fuera and colosseum which will be held for 3 days.The student clubs are really fun and interactive.One can interact and join hands with their seniors and juniors.

The hostel provides all the facilities for students.The mess food is good and tasty,sometimes one or two dishes may go tasteless but that doesnt't matter as we can manage with it. Biomentric is given to record the student's count and presence. Monthly outing will be provided by the hostel after 1st semester.(for girls).

I personally liked this college over other colleges as I wanted a different experience of staying in a hostel and learning to live by myself without depending on my parents for my every day work.I got Mechatronics in Vit and EEE in ssn.Firstly,I wanted cse course and I felt that sastra is better in providing me exposure and experience.

The faculty to student ratio will be approximately 1:13. So,the students are manageable by the faculties.Each student can approach amy faculty without hesitation as they are so friendly and will help you out with your doubts.There are 3 Monthly test which are called CIA.There will be a lab exam for semi lab semi theory courses and there will be the final semester exam at the end of the course.The monthly test and lab exams are considered for internals.The mark split up will be 50% for internals and 50% for the final semester exam.

My favourite hangout spot is canteen and there are 7 to 8 canteens inside the campus and all are of pure veg and has so many dishes. Exploring food is my kind of thing and there are also gym for fitness freaks and library. The girls have to be inside the hostel before 6:40 pm and for boys its 8:30pm.The locality is completely safe to roam aorund night as there are securities at all the buildings and gates.
