The truth and bitter facts of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam

The thing I chose this course because I felt tempting to this after hearing the name of course. The curriculum is soo good. This is mostly related to the advanced level of teaching is equivalent to some other foreign universities. It doesn't have any unwanted course.

Like ever year the situation varies and this time ig the placements for AI department was pretty low comparative to some other department. Here the thing cse core have the more strength, so like u have to compete with them as well. And my plans are to sit for campus placement and will try for off campus as well. And may go for start up if any idea cracks out.

I am in the slab -2 , whose fees is 290000 and if I don't maintain cgpa 7.5 and above, I will be moved to slab - 3 , whose amount is 4 or 4.5 lakhs i guess. And there are some students with non-schlorship whose fees is 6 lakhs and inspite of that you have to pay seperately for uniform stitching that is approx. 2.5 k and for the hardware kit u have to pay some 5k

There are many clubs in the campus. Which I feel like they are dead or may be something might be happening which I may not be aware. And there are lot of journals and wide range of accessibility in the library and if you are interested you can use the resource fruitfully and librarians are also so friendly. And there are so many sports and they do encourage you to participate in it. And a lot of tournaments are held. We have a tech fect 'Anokha', which is pretty good I guess and Mba people do have their fest named ' Pragati'. And many festivals are celebrated here in a good way.

As of now the first year hostels are good. The meal quality will be good in the initial days. And after that the you will be bored of it and sometimes it won't be good as well. Once in a blue moon they will serve you some fried rice or the ice cream or any other dessert. The don't serve any kind of non veg in mess. The menu in breakfast is like idli, Pongal, dosa , rava upma, semiya(vermicelli) , idiyapam , poha , bread , butter , jam etc.. The lunch menu is rice and some curry , sambar, rasam, curd rice, chappati and some side dish. Chappatis will be half cooked or uncooked most of the times. The night good is too bad most of the times.

I have applied for vit, shiv nadar delhi ncr and Amrita and moreover I was a jee aspirant. Atlast I have qualified advanced but there wasn't any hope for getting any good iit or the course. So I got in Vit vellore mechanical , so I rejected it because I wanted to stay far away from my house or city and vit vellore for juzz 2 hours from chenna. And I got in shiv nadar, BTech cse as well but my parents didn't allow me for that as it was far away and moreover it was in Delhi ncr. And I didn't get marks upto the level in Bitsat . So atlast no other option was left for me to join Amrita.

Here for a course there will be a professor and a faculty associate for the class of 70 students . Some of the classes or the lectures are too interesting and some are too boring. And moreover the exam system here is like you can't expect what it gonna be. This sem we have 50 percent weightage of daily basis exam and 50 percent weightage on project. The curriculum is good but the way they move is too bad.

The hostel rules and restrictions are so strict. You have to be in the hostel by 9 pm if you are first year boy and by 8:30 pm for girls and other year students do have some extension like till 9:40 or 10:00 pm. Like gym is there , and 3 canteens are there. And in hostels night canteen is also present. Girls do have previledge about night canteens and other hostel facilities than boys. And hang out places in campus are to sit near playground and feel the fresh air, near academic block 1 and 2. There is nothing outside the campus to explore i guess. And there some 2-3 dhabas to get the food but if you are staying in incampus hostels then you don't have the rights to go out of the campus unless and the holidays or u have the permission by the class advisor with some legal procedures to be followed.
