Design is not just art, its solving problems creatively.

I chose this college as it has a good reputation and is known countrywide. It is also less expensive compared to other design college in the country. I gave the UCEED exam to get admission in the IIT but couldnt get into it. The admission process of D.Y. Patil includes a online exam and an interview round before the final selection.

The curriculum is completely shaped as per a design course. Everything that is required by a designer is taught in the course includin drawing, different softwares, etc. The curriculum is practical and application based which teaches the student required skills.

The college provides several intership opportunities and have a very good connection with the industrial experts which helps for several internship opportunities. the internships start from the second year of the course.

The college has a wide network with the industrial experts which helps in the placements. They also offer internships to the students early in the course which can start from second year of the course.

Tution fees- 3,00,000/- per year eligibility/university fees- 45,000/- one time fees exam fees (per sem)- 11,550/- Tution fees has a 3% increase every year. Students can avail Government Scholarships There is no other charges

The infrastructure of the college is really good as they provide all the facilities required in a design college such as ceramic labs, CAD labs, fashion labs, smart class, etc. There are no clubs as such currently but are most probably going to start shortly .

The hostel rooms are excellent with gym facilities. The hostel also has a study room and a tv room to relax along with a washing room, equipped with 5 machines. Rooms are provided with a kitchen and a bathroom with 3 cupboards with enough storage. The hostel also has high security for the safety of students. According to me hostels could be better as they are safer and cancels the travelling cost.

The faculties for my course are excellent who have all the knowledge about their field and are highly skilled for the same. The course is shaped around practical based thinking and applications which is hoghly beneficial for a design course. The is exams are practical based as well and marking scheme is based on the creativity, skills, and learning ability of the student.

I did write an online exam ie AIDAT and faced a interview round , Portfolio Submission n Studio test during my admission process. The interview required us to be physically present and we have to showcase our portfolio

There is a gym provided in the hostel. Students mostly do their assignments for the next day after college premises or play arond the campus. Some plays indoor games provided by the hostel such as table tennis, carrom, etc.
