Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choosed to do MBA to get into a good MNC company. I was into two options either MCom or MBA. After my research I found out MBA was a better course. Doing MBA from a normal college and doing MBA from a B school makes a lot of differences. I was not able to afford for a B school. I choosed JKSHIM and here we were made to study and work at the same time. After class we used to visit car showrooms or same scale industries to know how they are running a business. We come back and then discuss the problems faced by the business and come up with relevant soultions and provide them the option to choose. Such activities have helped us to understand how much strain are business. One suggesstion I would like to give is not to put many task in students plate. It will be very difficult for a student to do this homework, study for his internals, complete the project and site visits all at the same time. There were monthly test also known as internals given randomly. There was no fixed time table, there were few days were we have wriiten 3 papers and submitted 4 projects in a day. So they dont care about other subjects. they have you to pass in their own paper. And there will be one final exam at the end of each sem. The difficulty level is moderate to difficult.

Placement Experience

1

I was in a unluck batch where there where only 4 banks that came up for campus selection. All 4 banks considered students to sell insurance. only 40% of the people were selected in my batch. Students will be eligible for placement only in second year. companies like HDFC, ICIC, Kotak and Grant Thorton were the compaines visited. The highest package offered was 4LPA. I was not selected in placement, hence I decided to look a job outside.I got a job at LSEG as a Research Analyst

Fees and Financial Aid

I joined JKSHIM in the year 2016. I had payed around 5,00,000 INR per year. As per me the Tution fee at JKSHIM back then was 250000, they considered 50000 for computer lab and for bloomberg lab 100000 and rest was university charge, development charge, library charges etc. There was no caste category included in the fee structure. All had to pay the same fee structure. Person from management seat used to pay double from the person who came from government quota. There are various schorlarships available as per caste system. There were people receiving schorlship amount upto 100000 INR. There was no schorlships or any other such programs for General category.

Campus Life

3

There was one culture club where we used to perform once in every sem. There were sports meet once in a year. We used to conduct inter college festival once a year where other college students used to participate and our college students also used to attend different college fest. There were aroung 7000 books, journals and project books available in the library. Each one of us had two library cards from which we could borrow the books and return or renew it once in 15 days.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility I would rate 3.5 out of 5. Room was spacious. There is no single room here. everyone had to share a room with another person. There was attached bathroom facility. Room service was provided. Weekly once a kady used to come and clean the room and washroom. Meals were ok. They was two counters North and South India meals. They will provide you the coupon every 1st of the month and you can't change your preference in the middle. Untill next month same coupon should be used. I had paied 65000 per year and I felt it is expensive as per the facility provided. There will be a warden who will registry the name and details and allot the rooms. there is no much formalities. I had not rented a room/PG, but I had a friend who was staying in a PG and her PG montly charges were 5000.

Admission

I had wriiten PGCET exam. Most of the college give first preference to CAT, MAT and other management seats. I had applied to Acharya Institute of Management, AIMS and BMS and the cutoff here was within 2000 ranking. since my ranking was beyond 2000 I was not selected here. Then I had kept JKSHIM as an option and I was alloted seat here as per my ranking. Admission process was quite simple at JKSHIM. I went early in the morning and submitted all my documents such as 10th PU marksheet, Degree completion certificate along with Final result. Adhar, Pan details, 2 photos. They will call for an interview give some general questions to resolve and then send you the admission letter and course details, hostel fee details.

Faculty

3

Faculty at JKSHIM have a very good knowlege. All of them must and have completed Phd. They have very senior lectures like RadhaKrishan Sir and SRK sir. They have corporate experiences too, so they teach us law and business study very well. We also had a lecture name Kartick who used to teach us about logistics. He was not very approchable and was very lenient with few of his favourite students. to speak about exams it is in moderate to difficult level. Most of the subjects including Accountancy is MCQ here, where in most of us love to solve problems rather than studing theory part in accountancy. Out of 120 students 100 would pass in first attempt. For students who used to fail they was an re - exam called Make-up exam. If they fail in second attempt then they had to clear to next year along with the junior batch.

Night Life

2

There is no gym, cafe or any places where we could hangout. It is surronded by forest and its always safe to be inside before 7.00 PM. There was only one cafe inside the campus that provides light snacks and juice. and outside the campus there are 3 hotels of locals where lunch and breakfast was served. Library and cafe used to close by 4.00 PM and hostel for girls will be closed by 7.00 PM and for boys it is 9.00 PM. There is no night life here. we used to go to hostel and do our college unfinished work and get ready for the next day.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the college are good for marketing specialization. Compared to other specializations, from semester 2 itself, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank visit the campus. The highest package this year was 40 LPA, and the average package is around 6.5 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is 70% for now. After getting the degree, selection in a good company is my plan.

The average package offered is moderate and there are limited opportunities for high paying roles compared to top tier colleges. Companies that visit the campus are mostly small to mid sized organizations. The placement cell is very supportive and conduct training sessions such as aptitude tests, mock interviews and soft skills development to prepare students for placements.

Placement in my college is decent, wiyh around 90% of students are getting placed. Students usually become eligible for placement in their final year and the college provides internships opportunities before that, which helps in gaining experience. Many companies visit to campus mainly from marketing and sales, along with some roles in HR and operations. The number of offer is good but option for finance and analytic are comparatively limited.

I choose this course because to get good knowledge like finance and accounts marketing and sales in two years of my masters . The circulum was well prepared me in completing two years of my graduation by studing in my academic subject. There should be some changes need to be made by improving the course circulum and teaching methods like time table of exams class room time table College timings etc Yes the timimg of exams were not so easy it was very hard for me to go to college it was so far to go from home but the college has no buses facility and i have already try to reach so early.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
