Course Curriculum Overview
As it is an Anna University affiliated college, it is non-autonomous, yet the syllabus of study is the syllabus announced by AU. It has a vast syllabus which provides extra credits for NCC/NSS, including various industrial visits and camps too.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies like Amazon, phone pay, PayPal, and JP Morgan provide an internship opportunity with a stipend of 70k on average, to the students. The opportunity can be availed during the placement drives. Any international internships or workshops announced are also encouraged by the college. Students can do any number of projects for which guiding faculties can be chosen by the students, and the lab facilities are allowed to be used too.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements right from their 7th semester, which will be conducted on campus. Many companies like Sobha Constructions (UAE), Amazon, JP Morgan, Adani, Bosh, Cameron, CRI pumps, Daimler truck Asia etc. Average of 200 recruiters are there, list of which can be found in the college website Psgitech.ac.in
Fees and Financial Aid
FIRST YEAR/LATERAL ENTRY (might be subject to some minute changes): Tuition fees: Rs.140000 Development fee: Rs.5000 Caution deposit: Rs.3000 Group insurance: Rs.250 Anna university fee: Rs.1900 Placement training: Rs.15000 TOTAL: Rs.166400 As per anna university policy, Examination fee of Rs.15000 (average) is to paid for every semester. College transport is available and the fee is based on the pickup points.
Campus Life
An Anual technical / Non- Tech college event called Yuktaha will be conducted every year for 3 days. PSG itech has a very big library equipped with a very lot of books and journals. A college magazine highlighting the talents of the students will be published every year. The entire campus is wifi free. The classrooms are equipped with high quality audio systems and projectors. An Air conditioned seminar hall with a capacity of 150 is also available for every individual departments. A tutorial hall for studies GD and studies is also provided. A variety of indoor/ outdoor sports are offered in the campus. Clubs like dance, cooking, music, NCC, NSS, photography, drawing etc are organized. An entrepreneurship cell is offered in which any startups of the students are supported by the college.
Admission
I was admitted into PSGiTech via the Tamil Nadu State Board Counseling. The average cutoff to get into this college would be 80/100. This college was my preferred one during the counselling, because of the reputation and the exposure that the PSG institution has/ provides.
Faculty
A class will have an average of 60 students, and every 15 students will have a mentor. A mentor mentee hour will be conducted every week, in which you can raise up any queries and give feedback personally. The faculties are well educated in the field and are very friendly. As far as exams are concerned, three internal tests with a semester exams will be conducted. Naan Mudhalvan courses initiated by the Govt of Tamil Nadu will also be organized in the campus itself.
Night Life
Gyms are available in the indoor stadium. Most of the public areas are operated until 6:30 pm. The hostel in timings are restricted to 6:30pm. After which students can enjoy the play area available within the hostels.
